Role Overview:The Accountant I/II – General Accounting will perform key accounting activities, including journalentries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and collaborating with internal and externalauditors. The role requires high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency inaccounting software and reporting tools.Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Accounting:o Prepare and post journal entries for provisions, adjustments, inventory, payroll, andother accounting areas.o Reconcile priority balance sheet accounts before uploading Trial Balance into theconsolidation tool (Cognos).o Ensure all reconciliations have appropriate documentation and action plans for anyreconciling items. Financial Statements & Reporting:o Prepare preliminary financial statements and provide variance commentary.Collaborate with Financial Reporting Managers (FRM) and Business Leaders tofinalize financials.o Upload approved financials into Cognos and update relevant forms for groupconsolidation.Audit & Compliance:o Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary support andexplanations.o Maintain confidentiality regarding employees, clients, and vendors. System Operations:o Operate accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Great Plains) and reporting toolsefficiently.o Recommend improvements for GL accounting processes. Ad Hoc Tasks:o Assist other accountants during month-end closings and perform other assignedduties.o Provide periodical/standard and ad hoc reports as requested by stakeholders.Qualifications & Skills:Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software (Great Plains preferred). Strong analytical and organizational skills.Soft Skills: Ability to adapt to changing work environments and manage competing priorities. High attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Meticulous work habits and a professional demeanor.Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with at least three years of relevant experience, orequivalent education and experience.
