Looking for a resource who has worked on sophisticated SAAS platforms or microservices products. Experience working with global teams would be a big plus. Should be able to own workstreams within the platform and be responsible for it end to end to deliver outstanding outcomes. Our clients are large enterprise Fortune 500/Global 2000 companies and need complex engineering design to meet their expectations.Position OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned Director of Engineering with strong technical leadership skills, deep expertise in PHP/Laravel development, and a successful track record of delivering SaaS platforms. This role will oversee all aspects of product engineering, lead a team of developers, collaborate with Product and Customer Success teams, and drive innovation and scalability within the SimplifyVMS platform.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyBuild, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team.Develop and implement engineering best practices, processes, and culture to ensure quality and efficiency.Collaborate closely with Product Management to shape the product roadmap and execute on delivery.Drive technology strategy and make architecture decisions that ensure system scalability, reliability, and security.Technical OwnershipProvide technical guidance and hands-on support in building robust, scalable SaaS applications using PHP/Laravel.Oversee code quality, architecture decisions, and technical design.Lead system modernization efforts and guide migration to microservices or serverless frameworks where appropriate.Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the SimplifyVMS platform.SaaS OperationsManage cloud infrastructure operations (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred) and DevOps practices to ensure high availability and performance.Ensure the engineering team delivers against SLAs for uptime, performance, and incident management.Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and agile development processes suited for SaaS environments.CollaborationWork closely with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams.Ensure engineering efforts align with business goals, customer needs, and market demands.Qualifications12+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role (Director or higher).Expertise in PHP 8+, Laravel 8/9, MySQL/PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and frontend frameworks (Vue.js or React preferred).Proven experience leading SaaS product development at scale.Solid experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).Strong understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and scalable systems.Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Preferred SkillsExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Knowledge of GraphQL and/or WebSocket real-time applications.Background in workforce management, VMS, HR tech, or procurement tech solutions.Familiarity with compliance and security best practices (SOC2, GDPR).BenefitsCompetitive salaryProfessional growth opportunitiesIf you’re passionate about developing scalable systems, driving innovation, and contributing to a dynamic SaaS platform, we’d love to hear from you!
