Job Title - Nursing EducatorJOB PURPOSE To providing effective training and assessment in clinical settings.Core Responsibilities – Nursing Knowledge & AdaptabilityAwareness of the departmental vision, mission, objectives and its implementation.Knowledge about layout of the unit, number of patients and types of patient and their requirements.Interaction, co-operation and team spirit with other staff members.Accurate knowledge about the forms and formats.Upskilling & enhancing knowledge as per current evidence based practices.Soft skill and Critical thinkingDemonstrates knowledge on AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank) and GST (Greet, smile, thank).Utilizes effective communication skills in reporting pertinent information on time.Maintains telephone etiquettesMaintains professional decorum and communicates in English/Hindi in the areas of work with co-workers.Adheres to the grooming standards laid down by the organization.Demonstrates understanding of emergency codes and effectively and efficiently responds to emergency situation in a calm, constructive, positive mannerKey Responsibilities:Mentor to novice nurses & conducts departmental orientation programme under ABHYAS.Supervise nurses in clinical area & conducts On-job training.Plan & prepare monthly department specific training calendar.Impart bedside hands-on training (clinical & EHR) to novice & existing nurses.Implement & evaluate the In-service Education Programme (functional training, departmental OJT & LMS). Participates in training needs identification for nurses based on observation, feedbacks, CAT assessment & self-identified training needs.Maintains training programmes documents conducted by the department.Participates actively in clinical workshops, seminars, symposiums and conferences conducted at unit level.Upgrade the category of nurses from novice to expert through regular trainings (category D®A).Maintains monthly training, category of nurse’s dashboard of assigned department. Recommend competent &efficient nurses for professional development & career advancement.Disseminate the monthly training dashboard to nursing education head & CNO.Daily clinical roundsActive participation in Nursing Concurrent audits.Ensure 100% compliance of assigned department to:Nursing Induction (VIROHAN) within 30 days of joining, ABHYASMonthly module completion in LMS, BLS/MELS certification as applicable, Enrollment of nurses in specialty programs, Monthly training hours as applicableProfessional safety and Growth development Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth and development through participation at in service education programme, workshop, staff meetings, unit meeting and On-job trainingAdheres to all safety policies and safe work practices. (Infection control practices, falls, communicable disease etc.)Recognize her/his own limitation, seeks information and advice when unable to solve conflict/ problems on an individual basis. Maintains required professional licenses and state RegistrationDemonstrates competency in the following areas.Competency assessment and training.BLS / MELS/PALS/NRPHospital infection control PolicyFire Safety Radiation Safety & Proper use of biomedical equipment.JCI, NABH & Nursing Excellence StandardsOthers as when scheduledParticipates in identifying training needs for individual growth and development.Minimum QualificationsM.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc.
