Job Summary: The Candidate will oversee end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring cost-efficiency, supplier reliability, and process optimization. The role requires expertise in purchasing activities, vendor development, negotiation, payment term restructuring, and cross-functional collaboration to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including purchase order issuance, order tracking, and delivery coordination. - Ensure compliance with procurement policies and collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., production, QA, finance) to align procurement with demand forecasts. - Strategic Sourcing - Identify, evaluate, and onboard alternate vendors to mitigate supply chain risks and reduce dependency on single sources. - Conduct market research, supplier audits, and capability assessments for new vendors. - Negotiate and implement favorable payment terms to optimize cash flow. - Handle price negotiations with suppliers to achieve annual cost savings targets through Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and other saving opportunities. - Drive initiatives like bulk buying, vendor consolidation, and material substitution. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers through regular performance reviews and feedback sessions. - Resolve supplier disputes, quality issues, and delivery delays proactively. - Implement supplier scorecards to monitor KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, defect rates). - Analyse and reduce lead times through improved forecasting, supplier coordination, and inventory planning. - Collaborate with logistics teams to streamline inbound shipments. - Partner with QA teams to address defects, implement corrective actions (CAPA), and reduce rejection rates. - Generate dashboards to track procurement metrics (e.g., savings achieved, supplier performance, lead time trends).SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE- Strong analytical skills for spend analysis and data-driven decision-making. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Problem-solving mindset to address supplier challenges and process bottlenecks. - Advanced Excel/Power BI skills for reporting - Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.Educational Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or MBA preferred. - 3–7 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain roles.Technical / Functional Skills- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Business Console) and procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba).
