Having nurtured the finest and most sought after bunch of journalists, Republic is now launching an ambitious full-time Diploma in Journalism at the Republic HQ — Asia’s largest integrated News Centre.Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Output Desk/Bulletin Producer to join our vibrant newsroom at Republic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, producing, and delivering high-quality news bulletins. This role demands excellent editorial judgment, a strong news sense, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities: Plan and produce news bulletins for broadcast, ensuring a balanced, accurate, and engaging output. Coordinate with reporters, input desk, video editors, graphic designers, and anchors to assemble bulletins. Write, edit, and supervise scripts for accuracy, clarity, and tone. Select the most compelling stories and prioritize news items based on editorial importance. Manage breaking news situations effectively with quick editorial decisions. Coordinate live inputs, on-air graphics, and video edits for bulletins. Maintain tight deadlines and ensure bulletins go on air smoothly and on schedule. Collaborate with senior editorial leadership for daily planning and special coverage. Ensure compliance with journalistic ethics, accuracy standards, and legal guidelines.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in a TV newsroom environment, preferably on the output desk or as a bulletin producer. Strong editorial judgment and in-depth knowledge of current events, especially West Bengal and national news. Proficiency in Bengali and English (spoken and written). Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure, breaking news situations effectively. Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
