Role Overview:The Associate Director of Line Haul (Regional / Central) will lead the line haul operations for our quick commerce logistics network, ensuring the smooth, cost-efficient, and timely movement of goods between motherhubs (FC). This role requires a leader who is both strategic and operational, capable of driving improvements in our transportation network while managing vendor relationships and collaborating closely with internal teams.Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Planning & Execution:-Lead the design, optimization, and execution of line haul strategies to improve cost-efficiency, speed, and reliability.-Develop and implement short-term and long-term roadmaps for line haul operations.-Optimize transportation routes, scheduling, and fleet management to meet business requirements.2. Operational Leadership:-Oversee and manage all line haul transportation activities, including vendor management, load planning, routing, and tracking.-Ensure consistent on-time deliveries and minimize delays across all operations.-Establish KPIs and ensure adherence to performance metrics across all areas of line haul.3. Team Management & Development:-Lead and mentor a high-performing team of line haul managers and coordinators.-Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Warehouse, Inventory, Customer Experience) to align logistics strategies and improve overall service delivery.-Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.4. Vendor & Partner Management:-Manage relationships with third-party transportation providers and fleet operators.-Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service levels with external vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of service.-Monitor and assess vendor performance and make necessary adjustments to improve service delivery.5. Data-Driven Decision Making:-Use data analytics to drive decisions around route optimization, load planning, and performance improvements.-Ensure that all transportation activities are monitored and analyzed to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.-Work with the analytics team to create detailed reports for senior management on transportation performance and cost efficiency.6. Compliance & Safety:-Ensure all line haul operations comply with local, regional, and national regulations regarding safety, transportation, and environmental standards.-Implement safety initiatives and ensure a culture of safety is maintained across all logistics operations.7. Continuous Improvement:-Constantly evaluate new technologies, systems, and tools to enhance line haul operations.-Implement best practices in transportation management and seek out innovations to drive greater efficiency.Qualifications:● Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).● 6-10 years of experience in transportation/logistics, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role overseeing line haul or long-haul operations.● Proven experience in managing large-scale transportation networks within the quick commerce or e-commerce industry.● Strong understanding of line haul operations, route planning, fleet management, and vendor negotiations.● Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.● Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in logistics management software, route optimization tools, and data analytics platforms.● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.● Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus.Look no further and apply to this rocketship of an organization!
