This role is designed to nurture fresh talent and organically build a strong leadership pipeline for the future of Tata NYK. The selected candidate will undergo structured on-the-job training with focused exposure to commercial vessel chartering role. Over time, the trainee will be mentored to take on independent responsibility for specific routes or trade segments, contributing directly to the company’s chartering operations and commercial success.Key Responsibilities• Cross-functional job rotations to gain a broader understanding of Tata NYK’s business model, including operations, post fixture, contract management and finance• Assist the Chartering team in analyzing market data and trade flows• Support in negotiating and preparing charter party agreements under the guidance of senior team members• Performing voyage estimations, freight calculations, and evaluate cargo/vessel economics• Track vessel positions, port congestion updates, and other real-time trade insights to support efficient fixture planning• Engage in market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trade opportunities• Maintain updated records of fixtures, contracts, and documentation as per internal protocols• Gradually transition into taking end-to-end ownership of a defined trade route or business lineQualifications required:Recent graduates or postgraduates in Shipping, Maritime Studies, International Trade, Logistics, or Business Management (0-2 years of experience post studies)Skill Sets required:• Strong analytical skills and an interest in global shipping and trade• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-cultural teams and stakeholders• Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a dynamic work environment• Basic understanding of chartering terms, freight markets, and commercial shipping (preferred but not mandatory)This position will be based out of Mumbai or Kolkata
