Senior New Product Development EngineerAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior New Product Development Engineer who can takeownership of product development and production processes with minimal training. The idealcandidate will bring hands-on expertise in manufacturing, material selection, and vendorcoordination, ensuring the highest quality standards in production.About us: We are a product design company that merges modern design with traditional Indian craft to make high-end contemporary furniture and lighting. End-to-End Product Development: Drive product development from concept toproduction, ensuring feasibility, manufacturability, and quality.2. Technical Leadership: Guide engineers and artisans to enhance productionefficiency and craftsmanship.3. Vendor & Artisan Coordination: Collaborate with artisans, vendors, and internalteams to optimize production timelines and quality control.4. Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed technical drawings,specifications, and BOMs for manufacturing.5. Material & Process Innovation: Conduct research on new materials, industrialprocesses, and emerging technologies to improve product performance.6. Prototyping & Testing: Lead prototyping, conduct performance testing, andimplement design refinements.7. Production Oversight: Oversee daily production activities, troubleshoot technicalchallenges, and ensure adherence to design intent.8. Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintainhigh craftsmanship standards.9. Supply Chain & Procurement: Manage procurement of materials, tools, andhardware while optimizing costs and lead times.10. Product Lifecycle Management: Ensure smooth transition of products throughvarious development stages, from design validation to market launch.11. On-Site Support: Travel as needed to production facilities for hands-onproblem-solving, vendor management, and installation oversight.Qualifications & Skills:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Experience: Minimum 7+ years in product development, manufacturing, or industrialdesign engineering.Software Proficiency: Strong expertise in 2D/3D modeling software (e.g.,SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD, Fusion 360).Technical Aptitude: Ability to read, create, and interpret technical drawings, GD&T,and production documentation.Production Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fabrication, woodworking,metalworking, casting, and finishing processes.Problem-Solving: Hands-on troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach toresolving production challenges.Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with artisans,suppliers, and internal teams effectively.Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to vendor locations and production sites asrequired.This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background, a passion forcraftsmanship, and the ability to take charge of complex projects independently.
