We are seeking a motivated and talented Backend Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. This is a paid 3-month internship opportunity with the possibility of a full-time offer for exceptional performance. As a Backend Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, particularly in the exciting area of applying AI for software development. You will be involved in creating robust and scalable backend applications using Python and Node.js, with a focus on using frameworks like FastAPI and working with databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL.About CuriousBox AIAt CuriousBox AI, we're building AI coding assistants that actually understand your codebase. Our flagship product, ProdE (Production Engineer), works right where your developers do—inside VSCode. It can deeply understand your code base and boost your productivity by implementing end to end features, create architecture diagrams, write documentation and fix bugs for you.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backend applications using Python and Node.js.Utilize FastAPI for building efficient APIs in Python.Work with MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases to manage data storage and retrieval.Contribute to the development of LLM-based applications, integrating AI into our systems.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes.Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth application performance.Required SkillsProficiency in Python and Node.js.Familiarity with FastAPI framework.Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL databases.Understanding of RESTful APIs.Basic knowledge of software development principles and best practices.Ability to demonstrate projects through GitHub repositories or live hosted examples.Preferred SkillsExperience in creating LLM (Large Language Model) based applications.Understanding of Git version control systemAdditional RequirementsApplicants must be enrolled or recently graduated in a Computer Science degree or equivalent.Applicants should be available for full time work (min 8 hours work a day, 5 days a week).Applicants should be available to start immediately (max by 15th May 2025).Applicants should be willing to travel to the office location (in Green Park, New Delhi) at least twice a week.Applicants should have a good development machine + stable internet connection which they can use during the internship (Unix based system is a must, windows will not be used for development)What we offerOpportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and research.Chance to make a significant impact in the area of AI for software development.Hands-on experience in developing backend applications.Mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers.Possibility of a full-time offer based on performance.CompensationCompensation will be Rs 25K per month during the period of internship.
