The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of solar mounting structures. This role requires expertise in structural engineering principles, proficiency in STAAD modelling, and familiarity with Indian building and structural codes. Experience with Eurocodes and U.S. standards is an added advantage. This position will also involve ensuring that designs meet all quality and compliance standards for a range of installation conditions across diverse geographies.Key Responsibilities:Design and Analysis of Mounting Structures:•Develop and analyse solar mounting structures using STAAD software to ensure compliance with structural integrity, safety, and Indian building codes.•Conduct load analysis, including wind, seismic, and snow loads, specific to project locations across India, and where applicable, meet Eurocode or U.S. standards.•Optimize designs for structural stability, durability, and cost efficiency based on site-specific requirements.Technical Expertise and Code Compliance:•Ensure designs comply with Indian standards (such as IS 800, IS801, IS 456, and IS 875), as well as relevant guidelines for wind and seismic design in India.•Maintain familiarity with Eurocodes and American standards (ASCE, AISC) as a plus, for any projects or requirements outside India.•Adapt designs to meet evolving industry trends, material advancements, and best practices in structural design for solar applications.Documentation and Reporting:•Prepare detailed structural analysis reports, engineering drawings, and specifications to document design decisions, calculations, and compliance measures.•Coordinate with cross-functional teams to provide project documentation and support seamless integration with project requirements.Project Coordination and Support:•Collaborate with project teams to understand and incorporate site-specific needs, addressing engineering challenges and client specifications.•Support field teams and resolve on-site issues related to structural aspects of mounting systems, ensuring that field challenges are addressed efficiently.Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:•Conduct quality checks and peer reviews of designs to verify compliance with Indian codes and ensure high standards of accuracy and safety.•Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by integrating feedback and identifying opportunities for design enhancements.Qualifications:•Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.•Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in structural design, with at least 1-2 years in solar mounting structures preferred.Technical Skills:•Proficiency in STAAD for structural analysis and familiarity with design software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks.•Strong knowledge of Indian codes (IS 800, IS801, IS 456, IS 875) and seismic and wind design codes.•Familiarity with Eurocodes or U.S. standards (ASCE, AISC) is an added advantage.•Experience in Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) design is a plus.
