Our mission is to build a central hub for ESG engagement, uniting content, learning, and community to drive meaningful impact in the sustainability ecosystem.Role Description:ESG Content Writer Intern (Remote/ Unpaid) - We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Content Writer Intern to join Sustainit’s editorial team. This is a fully remote, part-time internship opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainability, ESG, and climate innovation. As a Content Writer, you will contribute to developing thought-provoking and informative content across our blog, newsletters, LinkedIn platform, and educational resources. This position offers hands-on experience, mentorship in ESG writing and strategy, and the opportunity to build your profile in a rapidly growing field. Selected candidates will receive a certificate of completion, support in refining their resumes, and personalized career guidance for roles in the ESG space from our founder.Responsibilities include: Conduct in-depth research on ESG trends, climate finance, clean technology, regulatory frameworks (e.g., CSRD, SFDR), and emerging sustainability challenges across sectorsDraft high-quality articles, blogs, and LinkedIn posts that communicate ESG developments clearly and professionally to a target audience of sustainability professionalsAssist in developing and managing a content calendar aligned with platform strategy and global ESG events or news cyclesMonitor reputable media and regulatory sources (e.g., EBA, EC, SEC, Bloomberg, WSJ, UNFCC, WBCSD) to curate timely, evidence-based insights for publicationCollaborate with the founder to identify high-impact story angles and feature topics (e.g., carbon markets, green bonds, due diligence laws, cleantech innovations)Support light content design, such as formatting articles, uploading posts, and coordinating with guest writers or partners when necessaryAssist in increasing platform outreach by drafting social media content, carousel, newsletter blurbs, and promotional copy to grow engagement and visibility(Optional) Support initial stages of web development and digital presence by helping define layout needs, drafting wireframe copy, or coordinating with the founder to refine Sustainit's online platform Qualifications & Requirements Required: Strong command of written English with demonstrated experience in professional or academic content writing Ability to distil complex ESG/sustainability topics into clear, engaging narratives Familiarity with online research and source validation in the context of environmental, financial, or policy-related topics High-level proofreading and copy-editing skills with attention to tone, grammar, and structure Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a remote work environment Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Journalism, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, English, or a related discipline Preferred: Prior writing experience in sustainability, ESG, or climate-related topics (published work, personal blog, university projects, etc.) Understanding of ESG frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SFDR, GRI) or familiarity with key climate finance and policy themes Basic knowledge of SEO, content management systems, or social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Medium)
