Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Climate Mitigation Portfolio Development-• Identifying new business opportunities within India and South Asia, Africa in developing leads, and contacting potential donors. • Keeping up to date with trends within the sector, undertaking outreach activities, generating reports, and presenting an analysis of business development progress. • Expanding on Climate Change and Sustainability’s current work, identify growth opportunities in close partnership with team leaders and senior management. Contribute to research including energy-economy modelling, development of sectoral roadmaps, policy analysis, and thematic studies on topics such as just energy transition, climate resilience, and low-carbon technology impacts. • Be an “ambassador” for the organisation in relevant conferences, workshops, training programmes; be seen as a thought-leader in the area of energy finance and climate mitigation • Writing high-quality technical proposals and contributing to all aspects of financial proposal development. • Building quality consortiums by understanding existing capabilities and experience, bringing together a relevant team to fulfill prospective client objectives and goals, and assisting team members to win business with identified leads. • Contributing to weekly/monthly/annual presentations, including events in Business Development updates, strategy meets, etc, when required. • Understand and interpret findings from energy-economy modelling in India in the context of low-carbon development pathways Research and Programme Management-• Coordinate with project implementation teams to ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables. • Contribute to the development and co-creation of alternate climate policy scenarios for India with relevant partners. • Coordinate events for engagement with partners through roundtables, seminars, workshops, policy dialogues, training, and other communication and outreach activities. • Contribute to the production of event summary reports and proceedings. • Publish research publications, thematic studies, low-carbon roadmaps, policy briefs, and blogs on topics related to long-term climate strategies, decarbonisation, low-carbon sectoral roadmaps, sectoral transition strategies, and just transitions. • Leveraging his/her domain expertise in finance to drive the CCS practice’s international portfolio on climate mitigation and energy finance • Stay updated on the policy landscape, sectoral developments, and industry trends about climate policy and just transitions. • Work in close coordination with project teams and undertake quality delivery. • Expand the Climate Mitigation team by assisting in hiring the right set of people at a Research Analyst and Programme Associate level to drive the strategy and execute the plan Oversee routine project management activities, including reviewing and submitting project reports to donors, developing budgets and work plans, and backstop operations as needed.
