Job Description

Role Overview The Engineering Manager for the Structures Group will lead a team of engineers in the design, analysis, and testing of structural components for our launch vehicles and other structures. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and managerial skills to drive projects from conception through to execution, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.Key Responsibilities: - Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. - Project Management: Oversee project timelines and resource allocation to ensure successful completion of engineering projects. - Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance in the design and analysis of structural components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. - Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including propulsion, avionics, and manufacturing to integrate structural designs with overall vehicle systems. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the team.Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. - Experience: 12-15 years of experience in aerospace structures engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in structural analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN). - Strong understanding of materials science as it pertains to aerospace applications. - Experience with finite element analysis (FEA). Managerial Skills: - Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. Preferred Attributes: - Experience in the design and development of launch vehicles or spacecraft. - Passion for innovation and a strong interest in the space industry.
