Since its inception in 2012, the University has stood as a beacon of academic excellence, fostering intellectual growth, ethical values, and a sense of social responsibility.Role SummaryThe Deputy Director – Academics will be responsible for leading and executing academic planning, curriculum development, content creation, faculty coordination, and quality assurance for all programs under the Centre for Distance & Education (CDOE). The role involves active participation in the development of self-learning materials (SLMs), video lectures, and assessments in alignment with the Four-Quadrant model as prescribed by UGC. Additionally, the role demands ensuring high-quality academic delivery through the Learning Management System (LMS), supporting real-time learner engagement, and facilitating structured interventions such as live sessions, doubt-solving forums, and assignment workflows. The Deputy Director will ensure that all academic initiatives adhere to university standards and regulatory frameworks while driving innovation, consistency, and learner-centricity in execution.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership & StrategyDevelop, implement, and directly manage academic operation policies and processes for online and distance learning in alignment with UGC/AICTE/NAAC/NIRF guidelines.Actively collaborate with conventional academic departments to convert regular programs into online and distance learning formats while ensuring academic rigor and regulatory compliance.Lead the execution of new program development, short term certifications/diploma based on market trends, industry skill gaps, and employability potential, ensuring alignment with the university’s academic roadmap.Curriculum Development & Quality AssuranceExposure to designing and mapping curriculums; conducting and participating in Board of Studies (BOS), Board of Faculty (BOF), and fulfilling other regulatory tasks as per the university’s academic guidelines.Execute and manage the curriculum design, periodic review, and structured updates of course content and assessments in collaboration with instructional designers and a network of licensed Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).Ensure that Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles and Bloom’s Taxonomy are systematically applied to define learning outcomes, course structure, and the design of formative and summative assessments.Apply sound knowledge of instructional design pedagogy in the development of engaging, learner-centric content tailored to adult learning principles, including sequencing, scaffolding, interactivity, and accessibility.Integrate and manage the Four Quadrant approach (video lectures, e-content, self-assessment, and discussion forums) across all online courses in a consistent and pedagogically sound manner.Analyse and report academic performance metrics, learner engagement data, and learning outcome achievements through academic dashboards, audits, and performance evaluation reports.Faculty CoordinationProactively identify, empanel, and manage internal and external faculty resources for online and distance programs, ensuring a diverse academic talent pool.Execute structured faculty onboarding, training, and engagement plans, covering digital pedagogy, LMS operations, and delivery standards.Develop and implement performance appraisal systems, faculty development programs, and mentoring mechanisms to drive quality and accountability.Student Academic SupportSupervise and manage academic advising frameworks, learner support systems, and grievance redressal protocols in compliance with regulatory turnaround timelines.Ensure the execution of end-to-end academic delivery services, including live virtual sessions, recorded lectures, discussion forums, doubt-solving sessions, assignments, exams, and result processing.Track learner satisfaction and provide actionable insights to improve academic touchpoints and service delivery effectiveness.Technology IntegrationWork closely with LMS and EdTech teams to execute and maintain robust content delivery systems, data tracking mechanisms, and interactive learner features for enhanced engagement and learning outcomes.Drive adoption of innovative pedagogies such as flipped classrooms, asynchronous modules, AI-enabled learning, and digitally proctored assessments through system-level implementation and training.Oversee content licensing arrangements, tech tie-ups, and integration of third-party tools and platforms to enrich the academic ecosystem.Proper acquittance with various LMS platforms like Moodle, Canvas, blackboard learn, Talent LMS, SAP Litmos etc.Compliance & AccreditationEnsure execution of all compliance activities as per UGC ODL and Online Programme Regulations, including preparation of documentation for fresh approvals, renewals, annual reports, and audits.Participate in and contribute to institutional rankings and accreditation submissions (NAAC, NIRF, etc.), including CODE-specific academic performance data, learner success metrics, and regulatory matrices.Qualifications & ExperiencePreferably Ph.D. /UGC- Net and Master's degree in the field of Computer Science or Management domain from a recognized university.Minimum 10 years of academic/administrative experience in higher education, with at least 3 years in online/distance education either in a University Structure or edtech companies.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for online/distance learning in India.Experience in academic planning, curriculum design, and EdTech tools.Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.Preferred AttributesExposure to accreditation processes like NAAC, NBA, or QS rankings.Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas).Ability to manage diverse academic teams and liaise with regulatory bodies.Application ProcessInterested candidates may apply with a detailed CV, cover letter, and references to the Human Resources Department at careers@.
