The DSW oversees student life, including welfare, discipline, counseling, residential life, co-curricular development, and overall campus engagement. The role is instrumental in creating a vibrant campus culture that promotes student well-being, holistic growth, and active involvement in university life.Key Responsibilities1. Student Engagement & DevelopmentDesign and implement programs aimed at the holistic development and personality growth of students.Plan, organize, and supervise co-curricular, cultural, and recreational activities within the University and hostels.Encourage and support student participation in campus clubs, societies, and extracurricular initiatives.Promote student involvement in inter-university and external events, competitions, and programs.Organize educational tours, excursions, and learning experiences beyond the academic curriculum.2. Student Governance & RepresentationOrganize, guide, and support the functioning of the Student Council and Sports Council.Facilitate student representation on university committees and bodies in consultation with elected student leaders.Provide mentorship to student leaders and student-run organizations.3. Student Counseling & SupportSupervise the Student Counseling Cell and ensure provision of mental health and wellness services.Establish peer support networks and facilitate effective grievance redressal mechanisms.Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians when necessary to support student welfare.4. Campus Discipline & Code of ConductEnsure strict and fair implementation of student discipline policies in coordination with the Proctorial Board.Investigate student grievances and disciplinary cases, ensuring confidentiality and decorum.Maintain a safe, healthy, and congenial environment on campus and in hostels.5. Inclusivity, Welfare & Residential LifePromote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student community.Oversee the well-being of international and underrepresented students.Coordinate with hostel wardens to ensure safety, hygiene, and a positive residential experience.Monitor and facilitate support for students’ day-to-day academic, co-curricular, and recreational needs.6. Health, Safety & Well-beingEnsure access to medical support and emergency response mechanisms across the campus.Liaise with wellness professionals, healthcare providers, and local authorities as required.7. Academic Contributions (Under NEP)Act as the academic head for the development and implementation of AEC/VAC courses (Dance, Music, Theatre, Sports) under the DSW Cell, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP).8. Policy, Administration & ReportingDevelop and update student welfare policies in accordance with UGC and other regulatory guidelines.Serve as the liaison between student organizations and university administration.Prepare and submit periodic reports on student welfare initiatives to the University administration.Qualifications & ExperienceMaster’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent) from a recognized university.Minimum of 15 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in higher education.Demonstrated leadership in student welfare, services, or co-curricular administration.Strong understanding of UGC norms and regulatory frameworks related to student affairs.Application ProcessInterested candidates may apply with a detailed CV, cover letter, and references to:
