The ideal candidate should come with a strong background in the cable industry, with proven experience in product design, cost optimization, BOM creation, and team management. This role is critical for driving innovation, standardization, and cost efficiency across product lines.Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end design and development of cable products including HT, LT, Instrumentation, Control, and Speciality cablesDefine design standards, processes, and parameters ensuring compliance with industry standards (IS, IEC, UL, etc.)Own and manage the costing function including estimation, BOM generation, and pricing support for bids and tendersCollaborate with R&D, production, procurement, and sales teams to ensure cost-effective and manufacturable designsPerform cost benchmarking and competitor analysis to support pricing strategy and margin improvementsEvaluate and implement new raw materials and design methodologies to improve product performance and reduce costDrive value engineering, design-to-cost, and continuous improvement initiativesLead and mentor a team of design engineers and costing analystsReview customer specifications and ensure technical alignment for customized product requirementsInterface with customers, auditors, and certifying agencies as required for design and quality-related discussionsPrepare and present technical documentation, cost sheets, and design justifications for management and clientsQualifications & Experience:B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field (M.Tech preferred)Minimum 15–20 years of experience in design and costing within the cable manufacturing industryStrong understanding of HT/LT cable constructions, standards, and testing protocolsExpertise in product costing, raw material evaluation, and cost reduction strategiesProficient in design tools, ERP systems, and costing softwareExcellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsExposure to international standards and global cable projects will be an added advantage
