Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academics) for driving strategic initiatives, with a focus on skill gap identification, competency-based curriculum, integration of skills in higher education, learning by doing, on job learning, programme outcomes attainment, technology-based monitoring and quality assurance, faculty upskilling and certification, research and innovation, programme success, student engagement, academic excellence and placement.Key Responsibilities:Providing leadership and strategic direction to the academic programs, faculty, and departments of the university.Overseeing the development and implementation of academic policies and standards, ensuring alignment with the university’s vision, mission, and goals.Fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, skill integration, research, and services across the university.Overseeing and monitoring the administration of the academic programs and general administration of the faculty for efficiency and order.Leading and managing academic staff, ensuring effective performance management, professional development, and succession planning.Overseeing the development and administration of budgets for academic departments, ensuring financial efficiency and sustainability.Ensuring high standards of academic quality and rigor through regular evaluation and enhancement of programs focused on competency-based higher education.Leading efforts in accreditation, compliance, and regulatory reporting, adhering to national and international standards.Assisting the growth of the university by creating and implementing effective processes to achieve desired outcomes.Leading the development and implementation of university policies related to academic affairs, research, and student services.Regularly reviewing and updating policies in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.Ensuring adherence to directives from the State Government and the provisions of relevant laws, statutes, ordinances, and regulations.Ensuring academic discipline among students, teachers, and academic officers.Reporting periodically to the Academic Council on the university’s activities.Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the university’s reputation and rankings at national and international levels.Contributing to the university’s strategic planning process, particularly in areas related to academic growth, research, and innovation.Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, industry partners, alumni, and the academic community.Representing the university in external forums, conferences, and partnerships to promote its interests and strategic priorities.Promoting and supporting a research and innovation culture, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration for problem-solving at local, national, or global levels.Overseeing the development and management of research initiatives, grants, and partnerships.Ensuring the delivery of a high-quality student experience, focusing on academic support, extracurricular activities, and career services.Addressing student grievances promptly to maintain an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Qualifications & Skills Required:A distinguished academician with significant experience in Academic Administration e.g. Dean or abovePh.D in relevant fieldStrong track record of Research and Innovation Min. 10 Years of experience in Teaching in Higher Education and Research, and/or Skill Development, and/or Industry Experience, and/or Corporate L&DThe maximum age for applying is 50 years.Strong understanding of NEP2020, NHEQF, NCrF, and its implications for higher educationUnderstanding of Skill Development Practices, and its relevance to meet the Skill gap in the evolving Industry landscapeA deep commitment to academic excellence and student successProven ability to manage a growing organization and lead change Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders within the hybrid working environmentAbility to adapt to the changing demands of Education and Industry-Academic interfaceDesirable
