About UsWe are a small CPA firm focused on supporting nonprofits in California with audit, review,and tax services. Many of our team members have worked directly in the nonprofit field. We offer better work-life balance than the big firms and genuinely care about our employees' wellbeing.As we look to expand our practice, we would like to open an office in India and are seeking a qualified Manager or Senior Manager to establish and sustain our presence there.Responsibilities• Select and set up our office space in India• Support us in hiring a team of two additional staff members (including at least one tax junior) and provide leadership to the team• Create and nurture a positive team culture aligned with our firm values• Manage nonprofit audits including planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up• Complete checklists and practice aids as required• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and maintain quality control standards• Collaborate with US-based team on implementations and standards• Research accounting and audit treatment for complex areasQualificationsRequired:• CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification• 5-10 years of professional experience in audit/accounting• Strong communication skills (written and verbal English proficiency)• Experience with CCH Knowledge Coach, PPC Advance Flow or other audit practice aids, or some other digital audit software (we use CCH)• Ability to manage tasks, deadlines, and workloads• Experience supervising staff• Detail-oriented and committed to high-quality work Preferred:• US CPA license or in process of obtaining• Experience working with nonprofits and nonprofit accounting• Experience working with US-based companies or US accounting standards• Experience with CCH Knowledge Coach specificallyWork ArrangementLocation:• Open to any city in India - we seek the best fit as this hire plays a crucial role in building our future team and office in India• We would like this office and team to feel part of our broader organization, with annual in-person collaboration (either travel to US for offsite meetings or US team visiting India)Hours:• Standard working hours in India (10AM – 7PM), with potentially a shift for an additional 1 hour of overlap with US Pacific time daily (likely between 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM India time)• Daily synchronization calls with US team during overlap hours• Ability to collaborate asynchronously outside of overlap hours• Full-time positionBenefits:• 15 days of Paid Time Off initially, increasing with tenure• Indian national and regional holidays observed• Health insurance for employee and immediate family• Provident Fund contributions• Annual performance bonus
