About CompanyA leading and well-established chemical manufacturer with over 5 decades of experience has successfully secured a dominant position in India's chemical industry.Job Purpose-Develop and drive effective implementation of the Asia Region's financial strategy, policies, and processes in line with overall business objectives and growth plans.Monitor regional financial performance, manage financial risks, oversee activities such as raising and allocation of funds, accounting, treasury management, and ensure legal compliance across all countries in the Asia region.Roles and Responsibilities-Strategy & Planning:Define and implement the Asia Region's financial strategy (Controllership, Treasury, Taxation, Internal Audit & Compliance, Investor Relations) in alignment with global business objectives; translate regional business strategies into financial measures.Partner with senior management and regional business leaders to contribute to developing the Asia business strategy.Lead regional annual business planning and financial analysis; collaborate with country and function heads to develop regional budgets and set financial targets.Review and approve regional budgets based on business targets and strategic objectives.Provide strategic financial support to critical regional initiatives (Capex, M&A, expansion projects) through comprehensive financial analysis and insights.Policies, Procedures & Governance:Oversee the design and effective implementation of financial policies and procedures across the Asia Region.Ensure adherence to global financial policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks within the region.Review internal audit outcomes for the region and drive corrective actions to close process gaps and mitigate financial risks.Conduct periodic reviews to monitor key financial and operational metrics for the region; initiate corrective actions where necessary.Finance & Accounting:Oversee the accounting processes across all Asia entities to ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.Review and approve consolidated financial statements for the region; coordinate with global and local audit teams.Assess impact of new regulatory and accounting standards within the region and ensure timely adaptation.Ensure smooth statutory audit processes and drive timely closure of audit findings across Asia entities.Ensure rigorous management of accounts receivable and payable functions across the region.Risk Management:Identify financial and operational risks within the Asia Region and develop risk mitigation strategies.Implement governance mechanisms to safeguard regional assets and financial interests.Manage financial risks including foreign exchange, interest rates, and other market exposures specific to the Asia region.Treasury & Investor Relations:Develop and oversee the Asia Region's financing and treasury strategy.Assess future financial requirements of regional operations and identify funding options.Maintain strong relationships with regional banks, financial institutions, and investors.Ensure effective cash flow management and optimal liquidity planning across the region.Taxation:Oversee regional tax compliance, planning, and strategy.Ensure all entities within the Asia Region comply with national and international tax regulations.Manage transfer pricing, withholding taxes, indirect taxes (e.g., GST, VAT), and coordinate with local tax authorities and advisors.Legal & Company Secretarial:Support regional compliance with local company laws and corporate governance requirements.Coordinate with regional legal and company secretarial teams to ensure timely statutory filings and regulatory compliance.Monitor and mitigate legal and regulatory risks within the Asia Region.Review & Continuous Process Improvements:Continuously review financial processes across the Asia Region to drive operational efficiencies.Identify automation and digitalization opportunities in partnership with the Business Technology team to enhance financial systems and reporting.Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on best practices.Capability Development & People Management:Develop the capabilities of the regional finance team through training, coaching, and mentorship.Monitor team performance, identify and reward high performers, and build a succession pipeline.Participate actively in talent acquisition and retention strategies for the Asia finance team.Monitor and mitigate legal and regulatory risks within the Asia Region.Review & Continuous Process Improvements:Continuously review financial processes across the Asia Region to drive operational efficiencies.Identify automation and digitalization opportunities in partnership with the Business Technology team to enhance financial systems and reporting.Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on best practices.Capability Development & People Management:Develop the capabilities of the regional finance team through training, coaching, and mentorship.Monitor team performance, identify and reward high performers, and build a succession pipeline.Participate actively in talent acquisition and retention strategies for the Asia finance team.Qualification & Experience:Chartered Accountant (CA) with 12+ years of experience.Preference for candidates with experience in the Manufacturing sector (MFG).Proven leadership exposure, including team management and strategic decision-making.Key Skills:Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Financial Reporting, Taxation, Cost Management, Working Capital Management, Internal Controls, Compliance, SAP/ERP Systems, Stakeholder Management.
