Your individuality enriches our collective strength, and we strive to ensure everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered.Position SummaryThe Costing and Estimation Engineer at CIR is responsible for preparing detailed BOQs, cost analyses, and budgets for solar power projects, ensuring alignment with design criteria and industry standards. This role involves conducting cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, and variance analyses while coordinating with internal teams to support project proposals and decision-making. The engineer will also track price trends, contribute to price negotiations, and provide actionable insights to management for efficient project execution.Core ResponsibilitiesProfessional with in-depth experience in doing detailed BOQ based costing and estimation exercises for small and large-scale ground mounted and/or rooftop solar power plants with varying design basis/ criteria.Detail oriented with deep understanding of Electrical, Mechanical and Civil designs/ systems for Solar PV Projects.Getting well versed with detailed engineering, costing analysis, price trends and most acceptable engineering practices and regular reporting to management.Preparation of Bill of quantity (BOQs) for Prebid estimations.Preparing cost benefit analysis for various project/ design options & supporting Project/ BD and Sales team to expedite techno-commercial proposals and closures.Coordinating with internal department/ stakeholders i.e. Development, Engineering, Procurement, Projects construction teams.Conduct Contract/ Bid wise risk analysis of specifications and contractual language to develop a detail project summary for management’s decision-making.Support price negotiations with detailed data and cost analysis.Preparation of budgets/ cost-estimations and variance analysis vis-à-vis actuals to support controlling functions.Education RequirementsBachelor's/master's in electrical engineeringTechnical Skills and ExperienceSoftware Proficiency:AutoCADMS OfficeProject Management:Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementationAbility to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholdersRenewable Energy Systems:General understanding of IS / IEC codes and solar industry practicesExperience5+ years of experience in costing and estimation, with a focus on solar plant estimations/ budgeting and controlling.Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural SkillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Management experience a plus.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.Technical understanding of clean energy business processesExceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders.Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
