Job Title: Steel Foreman – Facade EngineeringDepartment: Production / Site Execution Reporting To: Production Engineer Job Summary:The Steel Foreman will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing steel fabrication and erection activities related to facade projects. This includes ensuring structural frames, brackets, and supports for curtain walls, cladding systems, and aluminum façades are fabricated and installed according to design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.Key Responsibilities:Supervision & Coordination:Oversee steelworkers, fabricators, and welders on site or in the workshop.Allocate tasks based on skillsets and workload priorities.Ensure compliance with facade drawings, erection plans, and structural alignment.Fabrication & Erection:Interpret and explain steel structure drawings, fabrication details, and welding specifications.Supervise the cutting, welding, grinding, and assembly of steel components used in facade systems.Ensure proper alignment and anchoring of steel members on buildings.Quality & Safety:Monitor the quality of welding, bolting, and structural finishes.Conduct checks to ensure installations comply with ISO standards, company procedures, and safety guidelines.Enforce PPE usage and safe work practices among the crew.Planning & Reporting:Work with engineers and planners to sequence steel activities as per project schedule.Report daily progress, manpower allocation, material shortages, and issues to the project engineer.Assist in manpower forecasting and OT requirements.Materials & Equipment Handling:Ensure correct use and maintenance of tools, lifting equipment, and welding machines.Verify material deliveries and assist in inventory control of steel sections, fasteners, and consumables.Liaison & Coordination:Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections.Interface with civil and facade installation teams to ensure proper alignment and fitment.Liaise with contractors and subcontractors as required.Requirements:Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Steel Foreman in facade, steel fabrication, or construction industries. Experience with curtain wall or cladding systems is highly preferred.Skills & Competencies:Ability to read and interpret facade and structural drawings.Strong leadership and team management skills.Knowledge of MIG/TIG welding, bolted/riveted steel joints, and fabrication techniques.Familiarity with safety procedures and use of lifting equipment/cranes.Basic computer skills for reporting (preferred).
