Job Title:Logistics and Capital Projects Expert – SME Service Line:Government Process Advisory Sub Service Line:Aerospace & Defence Location:Vijayawada Experience:6 to 8 years>>Overview The government is committed towards making India a vital part of the global Defence manufacturing ecosystem and reduce reliance on imports to meet the needs of the armed forces. Accordingly, the government has introduced procurement policies to promote indigenous design, development, and manufacturing. There are ambitious targets that have been set for export of defence equipment from India, and reforms are underway in enhancing the efficiency of the government organisations namely Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs). KPMG in India’s A&D team boasts of both domain and functional capabilities. Our team has worked with organisations across the A&D value chain including government owned entities, global Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs), Indian conglomerates and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). We help our clients to understand the Indian regulatory landscape, assess domestic/global market potential and define market entry/growth strategies. We assist with developing roadmaps for development of manufacturing ecosystems, project monitoring, bid-process management, marketing, and investment promotion. We follow a clear, well-defined framework, and a data driven approach to help our clients navigate a complex and increasingly competitive A&D market.>>Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics and Capital Projects Expert to join our team in Vijayawada. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in logistics infrastructure projects, including Ports, Dry Ports, Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), Rail terminals, and Air cargo. The candidate should be well-versed in logistics-related programs, schemes, and guidelines from Central and State Governments.>>Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage logistics infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution. Liaise with State, Central, and other government entities for the implementation of logistics projects. Provide expert advisory services on logistics-related programs and schemes. Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials and stakeholders. Conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed project reports. Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.>>Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Engineering/Technology. MBA in Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent. Minimum of 6 years of experience in logistics infrastructure projects. Previous experience in government advisory roles is essential. Strong knowledge of logistics-related programs, schemes, and guidelines from Central and State Governments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.>>Preferred Skills: Experience with Ports, Dry Ports, MMLPs, Rail terminals, and Air cargo projects. Proven track record of successful project management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
