Objective:To lead and manage the entire HR function of the university, aligning HR strategies with institutional goals and ensuring a dynamic, compliant, and people-centric work culture in both academic and non-academic domains.Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic HR Leadership- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the university’s mission, vision, and long-term goals. - Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on manpower planning, performance management, organisational structure, succession planning, and change management. - Drive institutional culture building, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives.2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for academic, administrative, and technical positions in line with UGC, AICTE, NAAC, and other regulatory standards. - Ensure fair and transparent selection processes through defined recruitment policies. - Develop faculty and staff onboarding programs for effective assimilation.3. Performance Management & Appraisal- Design and implement a robust Performance Management System (PMS) for faculty and staff. - Ensure timely appraisals, goal setting, and development plans. - Link performance outcomes with professional development and rewards.4. Policy Development & Compliance- Formulate and regularly update HR policies, service rules, and employee handbooks i - Manage disciplinary actions, grievances, and legal proceedings related to employment.5. Learning & Development- Plan and implement faculty development programs, leadership workshops, and training for administrative staff. - Collaborate with academic leaders for skill upgradation and research capacity building. - Promote continuous learning and development culture across departments.6. Employee Engagement & Welfare- Lead employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, and employee satisfaction surveys. - Monitor employee relations and implement retention strategies. - Manage welfare schemes, medical insurance, and recreational activities.7. Payroll, Leave & Attendance Management- Supervise salary administration, promotions, and leave management policies in coordination with the Finance Department. - Ensure timely payroll processing and adherence to statutory deductions. - Maintain HRIS/ERP for real-time HR data and reporting.8. Faculty Affairs- Coordinate faculty appointments, confirmations, CAS (Career Advancement Scheme), and promotions. - Ensure proper documentation and filing of service records, qualifications, workload, and regulatory compliance.9. Organisational Development- Conduct periodic HR audits and manpower assessments. - Propose restructuring initiatives to improve efficiency and adaptability. - Foster diversity, inclusion, and ethical standards across university operations.Qualifications & Experience:- Master’s degree in Human Resource Management / MBA (HR) / or equivalent. Ph.D. preferred for senior universities. - 15+ years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a leadership position, preferably in the education sector. - Knowledge of UGC/AICTE norms, service rules for faculty/staff and university governance practices. - Proficiency in ERP/HRIS systems, excellent communication, and conflict-resolution skills.ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and a leader of change.
