Job Title: QA/QC Head (General Manager or Deputy General Manager)Location: Bengaluru, India Company: BIALProject: Construction of Airport Terminal, Runways, Bridges, Roads, and Support Buildings including MEP Services, Airport System, Interiors and Landscape and associated works.Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced QA/QC Head to oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes for our large-scale airport construction project in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to international and national quality standards, drive quality improvements, and work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities Develop and Implement QA/QC Plans: Establish and enforce quality standards, procedures, and specifications for all construction activities.Ensure Compliance: Monitor adherence to project specifications, IS codes, BIS standards, ICAO and FAA requirements, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.Quality Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and testing materials and workmanship to ensure high-quality construction.Material Testing & Approval: Oversee material approvals, testing procedures, and certification requirements for construction materials, including concrete, steel, and asphalt.Coordination with Stakeholders: Work closely with contractors, consultants, and project management teams to ensure quality objectives are met.Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions: Identify non-conformities, document deviations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Training & Development: Provide technical training to project engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a quality-driven culture.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain quality records, generate reports, and present findings to senior management and regulatory authorities.HSE & Risk Management: Ensure alignment of QA/QC activities with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and risk management protocols.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's/master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.Experience: 20+ years of experience (in which 15+ years in QA/QC management for large infrastructure projects, preferably airport construction)Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or equivalent QA/QC certifications will be an advantage.Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of construction materials, testing methods, and quality standards such as IS, ASTM, ACI, and ICAO.Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DGCA, AAI, ICAO, and FAA regulations related to airport construction.Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and mentor QA/QC teams, drive process improvements, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.Preferred Skills & Attributes:Experience in airport projects, highways, bridges, and MEP systems.Proficiency in QA/QC management software and tools.Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
