Job Description: Area Business ManagerPosition: Area Business Manager Department: Dealer Management Location: Various Regions (East, North, South, West India) Reports to: Regional ManagerJob Overview:The Area Business Manager is responsible for driving business growth in their assigned area by strategically managing dealer relationships, implementing scaleup programs, and ensuring business KPIs are met. This role focuses on targeted geographical coverage, providing more direct and frequent dealer engagement to optimize market penetration and increase product adoption rates.Key Responsibilities:1. Business Growth & Revenue:· Achieve or exceed area-specific business targets for Samsung, Oppo, Vivo and SS DMI· Drive focused business growth of Oppo and Vivo to achieve targeted increase by FY 2025-26· Maximize DMI’s market share within the designated area· Monitor and track area performance against KPIs, implementing tactical interventions to address shortfalls2. Dealer Engagement:· Develop and maintain strong relationships with all dealers in the assigned area, with weekly engagement schedules· Conduct regular dealer (minimum 10-12 per week) and distributor visits to provide hands-on support and address issues promptly· Identify and onboard strategic new dealers to optimize area coverage and fill market gaps3. Program Implementation & Execution:· Execute national and regional strategic programs at the area level with 100% adoption rate· Provide on-site operational support during program rollouts (Oppo, Vivo, Insurance & MSME Products – SDF & TA)· Troubleshoot implementation issues in real-time to ensure continuous business operations· Conduct training sessions on new programs, product and offerings to OEM Teams4. Attach Rate & Product Mix Optimization:· Implement targeted strategies to improve attach rates for Samsung, Oppo & Vivo products to 16% by March 2026· Train dealer, OEM & Distributor teams on cross-sell products and benefits· Track attach rate performance by dealer and implement best practice sharing5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Mapping:· Conduct area mapping of competitor presence and performance· Gather market intelligence on product, pricing, promotions, and dealer incentives· Prepare bi-weekly area performance reports highlighting micro-market trends and opportunities· Develop area-specific tactical responses to competitive challenges6. Dealer Performance Management:· Track and analyse individual dealer, distributor performance metrics (sales, attach rate, program adoption)· Conduct monthly dealer performance reviews and develop improvement plans· Recognize and reward high-performing dealers to drive motivation7. Territory Planning & Route Optimization:· Create efficient area coverage plans to maximize dealer engagement· Optimize travel routes to increase productive time with dealers & distributors· Plan and execute area-focused promotional events and activitiesKey Skills & Qualifications:Experience:· 3-5 years of experience in field sales, dealer management, or business development· Proven track record in telecom, mobile, electronics, or FMCG industries· Experience in managing dealer networks and channel salesEducation:· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fieldsSkills:· Strong relationship management and negotiation abilities· Excellent understanding of market dynamics and dealer economics· Data-driven approach to performance analysis and decision making· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in field environments· Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on rapid resolution· Excellent communication skills and ability to influence at all levelsOther:· Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area· Willingness to adopt a tech first approach· Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint & MS Word)
