Role Overview The incumbent will create and lead the quality engineering and automation framework for the SonyLIV platform's Middleware/API gateway product for AGL project. Position Title - Staff Engineer, QA Automation, Digital BusinessLocation - Mumbai / Bangalore (WFO)Education - B.E./B.Tech in Computer science Experience - 8+ yearsOther Job Requirements - Working knowledge on middleware or API gateway applicationsAreas of Responsibilities:Quality Engineering -• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for API Gateway products, covering all aspects of API testing.• Experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on backend API testing of backend systems• Automate API/UI/Unit tests and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.• Experience of backend testing with deep knowledge of API and HTTP protocol• Good understanding of message queues, lambda function, base and AWS services• Good understanding of AWS log analysis• Work experience in OTT application is desirableProcess Automation -• Design and implement robust automation frameworks for both back-end systems using industry-standard open-source tools (e.g., RestAssured, Pytest, etc.)• Solid work experience in testing and automating the OTT based backend applications.• Design and implement quality process and quality metrics for the applications across platforms• Good understanding of processes and methodologies with ability to adapt and improvise in various situationsKnowledge Management -• Responsible for developing automation dashboards and reports to quality engineering• Should be able to perform timely evaluation of new technologies and methodologies.Critical Competencies for SuccessBehavioral:• Should be a good team player & able to work independently under pressure.• Strategic thinker balanced with a grasp of details. Inquisitive and analytical mind; out-of-the-box thinking; brings a creative perspective to business problems by applying functional expertise, business understanding and common sense.Technical:• Proven experience in writing comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for complex data-driven applications.• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or any other programming language to lead the efforts on backend and frontend automation tasks.• Design test plans to simulate high user concurrency and monitor key performance metrics.• Automate API/UI/Unit tests and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.• Solid work experience in testing and automating OTT-based backend applications.• Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and Exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.• A better understanding of Linux, Android and Cloud platforms (AWS ) and CDNs is preferred.• Should have excellent programming/coding and logical skills.Other Personal CharacteristicsThe successful candidate must be bright, quick, and a team player with the independence of thought and opinion to provide candour and honesty to support and influence key business decisions.
