Position Title: Quality Engineer IJob Description:Roles & responsibilities:Work closely with program management and development to understand requirements and design.Design and review test cases focused on a specific project(s)/component.Ensure test cases match anticipated customer scenarios.Effectively prioritize and schedule work and provide accurate quality status.Clarify quality/risk impact of design change/defect fix.Raise test estimation/scheduling problems in a timely manner with stakeholders.Explore automated solutions to testing.Execute test passes based on software test life cycle and share test pass results.Develop test scripts by leveraging automation tools and libraries.Uncover, report and document defects with clear reproduction steps.Target appropriate test cases/scripts for validation of defect fixes.Escalate quality issues appropriately and offer solutions.Use test tools for quality management.Ability to perform new and existing testing tasks without overly relying on guidance from a manager or mentor.Develop test plan that is reviewed and approved by appropriate stakeholdersIncorporate feedback from other disciplines in test planEnsure documentation follows standardized procedures and appropriate approval hierarchiesExperience Required:0-2 years of experience Experience with authoring and executing test plans.Knowledge of testing methodologies and processes.Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and software development methodologies (Agile).Organizational and troubleshooting skills.Experience uncovering and clearly documenting defects with attention to detail.Interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.Passion for quality and performanceSelf-starter with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training and a strong aptitude for delivering quality products.Competencies:Compassionate and kind, showing courtesy, dignity, and respect.
