Position PurposeThis person is responsible for receiving process package from Process Technology and converting them to kilo/ pilot plant & commercial scale. This role is responsible for both basic & detailed engineering, kilo lab and pilot plant operations and driving their asset efficiencies. This role will also support HAZOP by studying process safety data converting into interlocks and trips in the proposed design. This role will be also responsible for ensuring engineering equivalence during technology transfer.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Key strategic responsibilities for Technology Transfer include: Defining strategic designs which can contribute to the cost & process efficiencies Maintaining awareness of industry and technology trends to ensure that PI is current in development efforts to supply new and innovative offerings Implementing new systems & processes to enhance work efficiencyKey strategic responsibilities for Detailed Engineering include: Reviewing and approving all design plans/blue prints proposed by Civil/Electrical & Instrumentation/mechanical/ Process teams Align & support the project execution team through proper planning of projects on cost, time, quality and safety parameters PP/KL Operations Planning optimum use of available production facilities/circuitsOperational & FinancialKey operational & financial responsibilities for this role include: Planning and conducting feasibility studies, scale up studies and technology transfer leading to a successful process handover at commercial scale Providing support to Process Technology in developing any special equipment needed in lab work Overseeing operations of Pilot Plant to verify the processes on pilot scale and development of data required for design of commercial scale plants Assisting in developing and updating process design manuals and procuring design software Drive the development of the Basic Engineering Package (BEP) Define objectives for scale up trials Providing suggestions about new technologies/systems and its implementation at commercial level Ensuring quality, yield and productivity at kilo lab and pilot plant level before transferring the process to production Conducting analysis of different parameters for process improvements Ensuring timely release of SOP and other documents for new products Ensuring that all drawings, technical specifications, floor plans meet statutory regulations and various government compliance requirements Providing guidance to PP/KL Head in ensuring fulfilment of market/customer requirement by producing right quality of material as per business plan Ensuring effective utilization of manpower, utility, raw materials etc. in pilot plant & kilo lab Support HAZOP by studying process safety data and converting into interlocks and trips in the proposed design Develop KPIs to measure the performance of Technology Transfer to ensure high productivity among subordinates Maintain budgets and ensure adherence to the budget Ensure achievement of cost saving initiatives to achieve targeted savings in time frame Co-ordinate with Asset Planning and Business Development team to fix the circuit plan at kilo lab & pilot plant levels Collaborate with Analytical Services Lead for effective Technology TransferProfile Requirements:Educational Qualification B.Tech/M.Tech – Chemical Engineering from Institutes of repute like IIT/NIT Previous Experience 20-25 years of technology transfer & operational experience Good understanding of process safety Industry to be hired from Agro-Pharma-Fine-Chemicals Functional Competencies Knowledge of Process Design, Scale up and commissioning of commercial plant Strong experience of managing Technology Transfer operations and process safety
