Job Description

Qualification: Graduate degree in Engineering (Electronics o/ E&TC / Instrumentation), Post Graduate Degree in Embedded Systems / Automotive Electronics PreferredM. Tech + 10 to 12 years or B. Tech + 12 to 14 years of experience with exposure to embedded hardware development for automotive applicationsResponsibilities:Manage performance and deliverables of hardware design team to ensure project or RFQ response targets are met.Define hardware sub-system requirements and deliverables based on customer and/or system requirements. Estimate and own quality, cost, and timeline targets.Define hardware architecture and cascade requirements downstream for module level design.Conduct project status reviews as well as design reviews to ensure quality, cost and timeline requirements are achieved.Ensure compliance with internal design and documentation process at Varroc.Participate in cross functional reviews of design deliverables with R&D and manufacturing teams.Own and meet the quality Procedure/Standards for Design of Electronic Components (assembly & part Level)Lead the team in RCA of failures observed in various stages of product life cycle, including design, DVP and mass production.Lead VAVE exercises for existing products to achieve product level targets.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must have at least 4-5 years of experience of managing a dynamic engineering team.Must have a proven track record in designing and delivering complex automotive electronic control units from requirements to production, in a fast-paced business environment. Must have good understanding of problem-solving techniques such as 5W1H, 8D etc.Experience with HMI products such as instrument clusters, especially new generation clusters based on TFT displays, is highly desirable.Should have in-depth knowledge of high-end automotive MCU platforms such as Renesas/TI/Infineon/NXP etc.Should have thorough understanding various microcontroller peripherals such as ADC, various timers, PWM, CAP/COM, SPI, UART, I2C, GPIO, CAN, DMA, Interrupt handlers etc.Thorough understanding of various active and passive components, their advantages and disadvantages based on performance and cost – to achieve optimum component selection for the given application.Detailed understanding of peripheral circuits such as switch interfaces, analog and digital sensor interfaces, actuator drivers (high side/low side), various opamp circuits such as - comparators, current sense amplifiers, differential amplifiers, etc.Good circuit simulation skills with tools such as LTSpice, TINA, PSpice etc. along with various simulation methodologies.In-depth understanding of various HW test strategies and must be able to elicit and drive complex HW test plans.Must be able to contribute to and/or review various design documents such as Hardware architecture, requirement documents, WCCA, HW test plans, DFMEA, Hardware-Software Interface (HSI), etc. Must possess knowledge of best practices in PCB layout for EMI/EMC as well as EMI/EMC troubleshooting skills.Understanding of SW concepts would be preferred.Good communication and presentation skills
