You will be instrumental in building and leading the sales function, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key clients. Your deep understanding of learning/e-learning, localisation, and translation solutions, the competitive landscape, and effective sales methodologies, combined with your proactive and independent approach, will be crucial in achieving ambitious sales targets and solidifying Wordsburg's position as a leading provider of innovative learning & localisation experiences. This role requires a highly autonomous individual who can identify opportunities, develop strategies, and drive execution with minimal direct supervision.Responsibilities: • Strategic Sales Framework Development: Define and implement the foundational sales strategy for aligned with Wordsburg’s overall business objectives. This includes identifying target markets, developing strategies for lead generation and pipeline creation, defining the sales process, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs). Leverage a comprehensive understanding of the learning, e-learning, and custom learning market, including industry trends and the competitive landscape. • Product and Solution Expertise: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Wordsburg’s learning/e-learning, localisation, translation products, services, and their applications across various industries and learning objectives. Effectively articulate the features, benefits, and value proposition, tailoring recommendations to address initial customer needs and challenges to drive business acquisition. • Consultative Selling and Early Customer Acquisition: Expertly analyze the needs of early-adopting customers, learning objectives, and business challenges through active listening and insightful questioning. Strategically align and position Wordsburg’s learning offerings as effective solutions, clearly articulating their value and measurable outcomes to secure new business and build the initial pipeline. • Sales Process Design and Implementation: Design and implement a scalable sales process, with a strong focus on pipeline generation, tracking, and progression. Select and implement relevant sales tools and methodologies to track progress, prioritize opportunities, and ensure efficient execution from the outset to convert prospects into paying customers. • Talent Acquisition and Initial Team Building: Recruit, onboard, and develop the initial sales team, fostering a culture of high performance and proactive business development. Provide coaching and mentorship to early team members. • Key Account Development and Foundational Relationships: Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with early key customers, focusing on securing initial business and establishing a strong foundation for long-term partnerships and future growth. Utilize CRM systems effectively to manage initial interactions. • Technology Adoption and Integration: Identify and implement relevant learning platforms, tools (CRM, communication), and related technologies to support the initial sales efforts, enable effective pipeline management and lay the groundwork for future scalability. Effectively articulate the technological aspects of Wordsburg’s offerings to early customers. • Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify key opportunities, understand competitor activities, and position Wordsburg effectively to capture initial business opportunities. Provide early market feedback to inform product/service and strategy adjustments. • Resilient and Results-Oriented Execution: Exhibit a strong entrepreneurial drive, demonstrating initiative, persistence, and a proactive approach to building the sales function and aggressively pursuing and closing initial sales. Adapt to evolving customer needs and market feedback while maintaining a commitment to continuous learning. • Financial Awareness and Budget Management: Understand basic financial principles related to sales and manage the initial sales budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated strategically to drive revenue generation and pipeline growth.Qualifications and Experience: • Proven track record of successful sales leadership in the learning/e-learning, localisation, and translation or related technology sectors, with demonstrable experience in achieving and exceeding sales targets. • Entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for building something from scratch, and a strong drive to generate new business and build a sales pipeline. • Comprehensive knowledge of learning products, services, and their applications across diverse industries and learning objectives. • In-depth understanding of the learning market, industry trends, key players, and the competitive landscape. • Strong understanding of and adherence to a defined sales process, with proficiency in managing the entire sales cycle. • Strong understanding of consultative selling and the ability to develop solutions for diverse customer needs with a focus on creating a sales pipeline. • Strong working knowledge of current learning and localisation platforms, tools, and related technologies (e.g., LMS, virtual classrooms, content authoring tools). • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with a focus on persuasive communication for new client acquisition. • Proven ability to build and nurture strong, long-term customer relationships. • Strong performance management skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback. • Resilient and results-oriented with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets. • Solid financial acumen, with the ability to understand and apply financial principles to sales decisions. • Willingness to travel as required by business. • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a sales leadership role, preferably in the learning/e-learning, localisation, and translation industry or a related technology sector.
