For more information, visit .Platform Engineer Job DescriptionJob Summary:The primary purpose of this role is to support business requirements and functional specifications through program design and implementation of stable application systems and infrastructure solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying integrated computing environments across physical, virtual, and containerized systems. The role assists in creating and maintaining operating system images, runtime environments, and automation workflows to support deployment and scalability.Roles & Responsibilities:Translates business requirements and functional specifications into executable stories, designs, and platform modules; collaborates with product teams to understand infrastructure needs.Contributes to building and maintaining custom operating system images and runtime environments on physical servers.Supports infrastructure automation efforts using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Helm.Assists development teams with implementing secure and efficient runtime solutions under guidance.Participates in environment provisioning, system setup, and deployment automation processes.Writes maintainable backend code in one or more of Java, GoLang, or JavaScript.Helps manage container workloads on Kubernetes and Docker.Assists in integrating hardware peripherals connected via USB, Ethernet, or Bluetooth.Supports troubleshooting and observability efforts by collecting and analyzing logs.Collaborates with cross-functional teams including DevOps, product managers, and infrastructure engineers.Years of Experience:2 years of experience in software development or platform engineering.2 years of experience with Linux internals and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Node.js).2 years hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript).Exposure to frontend technologies is an added advantage.2 years of experience with agile development practices and SDLC.2 years of experience with technical documentation and source code control.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.Education Qualification:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).Skill Set RequiredPrimary Skills (must have):Programming Languages: Working knowledge of at least one modern backend language (Java, Go, Python, JavaScript).Operating Systems: Solid understanding of Linux internals and system configuration.Automation: Experience with Ansible, shell scripting, or infrastructure-as-code practices.Containerization & Orchestration: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.Platform Engineering: Exposure to OS image creation, secure bootstrapping, or bare metal runtime setup.CI/CD: Basic understanding of DevOps pipelines and Git-based workflows.Device Integration: Interest or exposure in working with USB, Ethernet, and Bluetooth peripherals.Security: Awareness of security hardening and compliance considerations.Secondary Skills (desired):Observability: Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.DevOps Practices: Understanding of Terraform, cloud infrastructure, or deployment automation.Debugging: Interest in system troubleshooting, performance analysis, and debugging.Documentation & Collaboration: Experience contributing to technical documentation or knowledge sharing.
