The role of Deputy General Manager (DGM) or General Manager (GM) - Finance encompasses a broad range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization.The position is based in Lucknow, with periodic travel to Sitarganj and Coimbatore. The primary objective is to oversee compliance with corporate accounting policies, manage month-end and tax reporting for all domestic entities within the group, and provide ongoing financial support in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on critical business and operational strategies.Key Roles and Responsibilities: Monthly Financial Closing:Ensure timely completion of monthly period close activities, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management System (CMS), Inventory, and General Ledger (GL). Financial Reporting:Publish monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports and prepare annual financial accounts to provide insights into the company's financial performance. Financial Review:Conduct monthly reviews of all financial schedules and reconciliations, taking appropriate actions to address any discrepancies. Audit Management:Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of statutory and tax audits, addressing observations promptly and effectively. Tax Compliance:Develop tax plans and adhere to compliance calendars for all direct and indirect taxes, including Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Income Tax, ensuring timely payments and return filings. GST Compliance and Refunds:Review GST compliance, interact with consultants during reviews, and digitize the GST refund process, particularly for Export Oriented Units (EOU). Internal Audit:Define the scope of internal audits on a half-yearly basis, ensure timely completion, respond to observations, and implement recommended improvements. Treasury and Cash Management:Forecast monthly cash flows, manage surplus funds efficiently, oversee debt raising (both long-term and short-term) as per business needs, and ensure timely completion of annual due diligence by external credit rating agencies. Costing and Gross Margin Analysis:Review product costing and gross margin analyses, developing necessary costing systems within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to inform business decisions. Internal Controls:Continuously improve systems and processes to strengthen financial controls, design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and administer accounting operations up to finalization. People Management:Manage and develop the finance team, providing feedback, defining responsibilities, offering support, and promoting accountability to ensure team effectiveness.Key Performance Indicators: Timely completion of monthly financial closing and reporting. Adherence to tax compliance schedules and successful completion of statutory and tax audits. Effective internal audit processes with prompt resolution of observations.
