This role requires a keen eye for detail, robust analytical skills, and a solid understanding of regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will ensure that all monetary transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported, supporting the broader financial stability and operational efficiency of the university.Job Description:You shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to the management and operation of accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget management and control, budget preparation, financial information systems, credit management, collections, fiscal planning, financial statement preparation and investing.You shall be responsible for the financial well-being of the University by providing budget management, monitoring appropriate investments of temporary cash balances and safeguarding all financial assets of the University to the competent authority.You shall be responsible to take due care & support for the accounting of the Ganpat University Goa (Proposed) and its constituent Institutes.You shall be responsible to prepare various Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) of Account of the University.You shall be responsible to promote a customer-oriented service attitude.You shall be responsible to scrutinize accounts of the University and its constituent Institutes in a fashion so all relevant data of accounts be analyzed at any point of time for adequate decisions.You shall monitor students’ fee collection system and take necessary actions, if any deviation is observed.You shall be responsible to develop, maintain and preserve all the documents and files of accounts section so that any query raised by Auditors, or any internal stakeholders be resolved within no-time.You shall be responsible to do continuous efforts for the improvement of the Accounting process and making work execution quick & easy.You shall be responsible to promote online payment systems and other accounting & financial procedures through e-modes.You shall be responsible for all financial transactions shall be carried out in accordance with approved policies, guidelines, terms and conditions, procedures, agreements only.You shall be responsible in preparing the overall Budget of the University and its constituent Institutes, financial statements of the University and ledgers of all accounts.You shall be responsible to improve the process of financial transactions in line with less human intervention, auto-pilot mode and quick & easy access of the data.You shall be responsible to take care of quick disposal of bills and advisory note parallel to the cheque clearance or e-payment to the party to mitigate follow-up on pending bill payments.You shall be responsible to prepare all documents for the Finance Committee (FC) on regular intervals and furnish all the required data in appropriate forms and formats.You shall be responsible to ensure miscellaneous assignments related to Financial Services are completed in the best interests of the University by accepting and accomplishing all other tasks assigned by the competent authority.You shall be responsible to help in coordination of the account department with other sections like procurement, estate, HR, IT, Exam, Academic to complete overall operational works in a quick and easy way.You shall be responsible to facilitate and support all sections of the University & Institutes for increasing the services standards of the University as far as accounting & finance is concerned.You shall be responsible to maintain the highest level of honesty, integrity, transparency while performing your duties.You shall be responsible to immediately report to authorities about irregularity, if any found intentionally or unintentionally, by any person of the University.You shall be responsible to have best practices of internal audit and final audit of all accounts matter and help to table the audit query, compliance and report to the University Authorities.You shall be responsible to deal with any litigation on Account and Finance of the University and shall be responsible to comply with it.Required Qualifications and Experience Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Advanced qualifications (e.g., Master’s degree, CA, ICWA or equivalent certifications) are an asset. Experience:A minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within an academic or higher education setting.Demonstrable experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes. Technical Competencies:Proficiency in accounting software applications and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations applicable to educational institutions.
