Job Title: BESS Product HeadLocation: BhubaneswarCompany: Surya International Enterprise Private LimitedDepartment: Renewable Energy – Battery Storage DivisionExperience Required: 10+ years in battery technology and energy storage systemsJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and innovative BESS Product Head to lead our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) product line. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery technologies, particularly in lithium-ion, LFP, and advanced storage solutions. The role demands strategic thinking, product innovation, cross-functional coordination, and in-depth technical knowledge to develop and scale BESS products for residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications.Key Responsibilities:- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle of BESS solutions from conceptualization, design, development, testing, and commercialization. - Define product roadmap, technical specifications, and key milestones in alignment with business goals. - Collaborate with R&D, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure optimal design and cost efficiency. - Stay updated on global trends, evolving battery chemistries, and competitor technologies to ensure product competitiveness. - Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, support business development, and assist the sales team with product presentations. - Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure product compliance with national and international standards. - Drive innovation and improvements in system integration, thermal management, safety, and performance. - Manage vendor relationships for sourcing cells/modules, BMS, inverters, and other key BESS components. - Lead field performance evaluations and ensure quality control of BESS deployments. - Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and help build a robust product development team.-Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Energy Systems, or a related field. - Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in battery technology, energy storage systems, or related fields. - In-depth knowledge of battery chemistries (Li-ion, LFP, NMC, etc.), BMS (Battery Management Systems), and power electronics. - Proven experience in designing, developing, and launching energy storage products. - Familiarity with renewable integration, smart grid technologies, and hybrid systems. - Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. - Exposure to international BESS markets and product certifications (UL, IEC, etc.) is a plus.-Preferred Attributes:- Visionary thinking with strong problem-solving ability. - Experience working in EPC or renewable energy companies.
