Metalegal Advocatesis seeking an accomplished legal professional to join our Disputes Practice as an Associate Partner at our Delhi office. This is a senior leadership role designed for a lawyer who possesses deep expertise in complex litigation and dispute resolution across forums, particularly in the areas of economic offences, taxation (direct and indirect), and allied economic and regulatory laws.As an Associate Partner, you will independently lead matters, mentor junior colleagues, and collaborate closely with the firm's founding partner and other practice heads. You will serve as a strategic legal advisor to our business and clientele, offering solutions on a range of contentious and high stakes matters including investigations, regulatory actions, and multi-jurisdictional disputes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead complex litigation and dispute resolution matters, particularly in the areas of: - Economic offences / white-collar crime (PMLA, Benami, FEMA, Black Money Act, etc.). - Direct and indirect taxation (Income Tax, GST, Customs, etc.). - Company law, insolvency, and regulatory proceedings before SEBI, SFIO, ED, and DRI. Represent clients before courts and quasi-judicial forums. Devise litigation strategy and oversee all aspects of matters from briefing senior counsel to drafting and appearances. Provide handholding support during investigations by law enforcement and regulatory agencies. Engage in negotiations, settlement discussions, and alternate dispute resolution when suitable. Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors (auditors, financial experts, forensic consultants). Supervise and mentor associates and senior associates in the team. Contribute to knowledge development, legal writing, and thought leadership initiatives of the firm. Support firm-wide leadership, including business development, client relationship management, and internal governance.CANDIDATE PROFILE Essential Qualifications and Experience LL.B. degree from a reputed law school; LL.M. preferred but not mandatory. 8–14 years of post-qualification experience in litigation and dispute resolution. Demonstrated expertise in handling cases involving economic offences, tax litigation, and regulatory disputes. Strong courtroom experience before High Courts and Tribunals (experience before the Supreme Court is a plus). Deep understanding of legal procedures, compliance frameworks, and judicial trends in economic laws.Skills and Attributes Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
