Job Description

Job Description- Mixed Signal Circuit Design Engineer About Us We are a dynamic team of young engineers, domain experts, and seasoned sales professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive turnkey solutions for complex challenges in Signal Processing. Our expertise spans the cutting-edge technologies in Signal Processing, addressing critical needs in the Defense and Aerospace sectors. Our offerings encompass a wide range of solutions, from tactical radios and radar systems to extensive research and mission-critical applications. about the role As a Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Engineer, you will be a key contributor throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from initial architectural conception and specification to the final design implementation and validation. You will be accountable for the robust design of mixed-signal boards and associated firmware, ensuring they meet performance and reliability targets. Your primary responsibilities will involve the design, development, and implementation of a wide range of analog and digital circuits. Responsibilities Designing and developing of complex mixed-signal circuits, including but not limited to: Analog Building Blocks: Precision Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs), Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), operational amplifiers (op-amps), buffers, inverters, and other foundational analog components. Data Routing and Integrity: MUX/DEMUX and switch circuits for efficient data routing. Communication Interfaces: Robust USB (2.0, 3.x, Type-C), Ethernet (Gigabit, 10G), and HDMI interfaces for high-speed data transmission and communication. High-Speed Interfaces: Implementing and verifying high-speed interfaces such as PCIe (Gen3, Gen4, Gen5), MXI, Ethernet (Gigabit, 10G+), DDR memory interfaces (DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR4), AXI, JESD204B/C, SPI, I2C. MXI, and SFP/SFP+ for high-bandwidth data transfer. Embedded Processor Integration: SoC FPGAs (Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC & RFSoC, Spartan, Virtex), Integrating FPGA logic with embedded ARM cores (e.g., Cortex-A series, Cortex-R series, Micro Blaze) and related circuit development. Developing and integrating Embedded Systems, including selecting appropriate microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M series, PIC, AVR) and developing/debugging associated firmware in C/C++. This includes taking ownership of and managing the firmware design team. Leading PCB Layout and Design efforts, utilizing industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD) to create high-quality, manufacturable board designs. This includes schematic capture, component placement, routing strategies, and ensuring Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles are met. Performing Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) simulations (e.g., using HyperLynx, SiSoft, or integrated CAD tool capabilities) on the PCB designs to identify and mitigate potential issues, ensuring robust performance of high-speed interfaces. Performing rigorous Debugging and Testing of Complex Circuits and systems using specialized equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers, network analysers, JTAG debuggers) and developing comprehensive test plans and procedures. Collaborating with Cross-functional Teams, including systems architects, software/firmware engineers, mechanical engineers, layout designers, and verification teams to define product requirements, ensure design quality, resolve integration challenges, and guide junior engineers. You will be a central point of accountability for your design contributions within these collaborations. Contributing to FPGA/ASIC Design workflows, including RTL coding (Verilog, VHDL, or System Verilog) for custom logic implementation, hardware acceleration, synthesis, and timing closure. Familiarity with FPGA development tools from Xilinx (Vivado) or Intel/Altera (Quartus) is expected. Minimum Qualification Bachelor degree in Micro-Electronics, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. With 8+ years of hands-on experience in mixed-signal circuit design, development, PCB design, signal integrity analysis, and implementation as detailed above. Deep understanding of all aspects of analog and mixed-signal circuit design, from transistor-level design to system-level integration. Proficiency with CAD Tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, such as Altium Designer, Cadence (OrCAD, Allegro), Mentor Graphics (PADS, Xpedition), or KiCad. Generate block/chip level specifications and perform Block Level Verification to close the design by meeting performance, power and area specifications. Expertise in Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) Simulation Tools and methodologies. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team, taking ownership of design tasks. Strong verbal and written Communication Skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Circuit Simulation Tools like SPICE (HSPICE, LTspice, PSpice), Spectre, or equivalent, for analog and mixed-signal simulations. Solid understanding of Circuit Verification Tools (Simulators, Extraction, EMIR, Noise, SigEM, etc.). Experience with Digital Design and Verification Tools, including Verilog/VHDL simulators (e.g., ModelSim, VCS, QuestaSim, Incisive/Xcelium). Understanding of SoC architecture, embedded processors, and HDL languages (Verilog, VHDL) to effectively collaborate with logic design and firmware teams. Knowledge of advanced packaging techniques and their impact on signal and power integrity. Experience with lab bring-up, characterization, and debugging of mixed-signal systems. Familiarity with design for test (DFT) and design for manufacturing (DFM) principles. Solid Understanding of all aspects of Analog/Mixed Signal Circuit Design of PHYs. TX, RX, Delay Locked Loops, Phase Interpolators, Delay Lines, Duty Cycle Correctors, reference generators, etc. Participate in establishing Design Methodologies to ensure correct, by construction designs Employee status and commitments Permanent full-time position located at our Hyderabad office, with regular on-site visits to clients and vendor locations.
