Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the setup and operations of our biofuel/biogas plant in Bhopal. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with comprehensive knowledge of biogas plant design, installation, and optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Design & Setup:- Lead the complete design and engineering of biofuel/biogas plant systems- Oversee anaerobic digester plant design, sizing, and configuration- Manage pre-treatment plant setup including feedstock preparation systems- Coordinate civil engineering works including foundations, structures, and utilities- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standardsTechnical Operations- Optimize biogas production processes and efficiency parameters- Monitor and control digester temperature, pH, retention time, and gas production- Implement preventive maintenance programs for all plant equipment- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective measures- Manage gas purification, storage, and utilization systemsProject Management- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities- Ensure quality control throughout construction and commissioning phases- Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and safety protocolsTeam Leadership- Lead and mentor engineering and technical teams- Provide technical training to plant operators and maintenance staff- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement and operationsRequired QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field- 3+ years of hands-on experience in biofuel/biogas plant operations- Proven track record in plant setup from conception to commissioningTechnical Expertise- In-depth knowledge of anaerobic digester technology and biogas production processes- Expertise in pre-treatment systems for various feedstocks (agricultural waste, municipal waste, etc.)- Strong background in civil engineering aspects of biogas plants- Experience with gas purification, CHP systems, and grid connection- Knowledge of process control systems and automationAdditional Skills- Project management and team leadership capabilities- Understanding of environmental compliance and safety regulations- Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD, process simulation tools)- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills- Strong communication skills in Hindi and EnglishPreferred Qualifications- Experience with government projects and regulatory approvals- Knowledge of renewable energy policies and incentive schemes- Certification in safety management systems- Experience with multiple feedstock types and co-digestion processesLocationBhopal, Madhya Pradesh (On-site position with occasional travel for project requirements)---Ready to drive India's renewable energy future?
