The incumbent would be responsible for crafting and executing procurement strategies, conducting cost sheet led RFQs, negotiating and finalizing contracts with suppliers. The role would also require detailed attention to inventory management in the business by engaging with different external and internal stakeholders. Packaging Material includes Woven sacks bags, paper bags, Flexible pouches, labels, rigid packaging, adhesives etc. The candidate must possess deep knowledge and experience of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, budgeting and Imports operations related to the category. Location: GAVL – HO Mumbai Designation: Assistant Manager Reporting to: Head - Central Buying Organization (CBO)Key responsibilities: Lead the Packaging Materials portfolio for multiple businesses in GAVL and execute procurement strategies to achieve business annual and long term objectives Design sourcing models with detailed cost structure and periodically review/refine the costing of existing as well as new vendors. Preparing annual budget with reasonable cost estimates and ensure that spend remains within budget norms Develop framework for vendor identification and onboarding to ensure competitive sourcing by enhancing vendor base Continuously scan domestic and international commodity trends and pricing fluctuations to make buying decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities and at the same time maintain high quality standard of materials Keep track of new developments in packaging industry & identify opportunities for implementation within GAVL. KPI lead portfolio management by performing periodic spend analysis, inventory controls, rejections reduction etc to align procurement action with business plans. Make best use of digital platforms and ERP solutions to gather insights related to spend management, inventory, cost metric, disposals etc to aid in decision-making. High degree of collaboration to be done with multiple stakeholders to ensure material availability and meet customer demands with regard to FP delivery. Coordinate with marketing team to understand product requirements and new product launches. Ensure readiness for changes in existing designs as well as packaging materials for new product launches. Key Stakeholders Internal: Business Heads, Procurement team at HO and Regional offices, R&D and Quality team, NPD team, Supply Chain and Plant operations team, Marketing, Finance, Customer Development. External: Vendor partners, expert insights for developing new or improve packaging materials Strong focus on Supplier Relationship Management with all with all packaging suppliers and partner with them to drive continuous improvement agenda. Conduct Vendor Evaluation on annual basis and engage with them for sustaining high ratings and focus on developmental areas Analyze & review Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors for Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) in case of non-compliance vis-à-vis specifications. Identify cost saving opportunities by focusing on inventory management principles and ensure minimal low/non-moving inventory across regions. Increased focus onEPR complianceswith support from legal team & guide regional CBO teams accordingly. Lead the packaging procurement team members, providing guidance and support to team members to achieve their goals and objectives. Must be ready to travel extensively across India for vendor development, complaint resolutions and other packaging related works.Qualification & Experience Education – Degree or Diploma with specialization in Packaging from renowned institute + MBA (preferred). Experience Required – 5 to 8 years of total experience with at least 3 years in leading Packaging Procurement. Prior experience in large scare manufacturing organization is MUST (Food processing industry or FMCG will be preferable).Skills: Sound judgment and analytical skills will be required in this role for identification and execution of actionable insights. Strong Interpersonal skills for leading/driving cross-functional initiatives. Ability to interact & coordinate effectively with senior stakeholders for resolution of issues.
