Our client is a gaming tech company building for the next generation. Our consumer gaming platform already serves 500,000+ Gen Z users and is growing. Now we’re re-imaginging game creation from the ground up—AI-first. Speak to any game developer and they'll be dying to tell you how they would love to focus more on creative aspects of a game, rather than the messy creation pipeline —long hours, redundant tasks, fragmented tools and painful troubleshooting. Our vision: The Studio AI—a unified intelligence product that makes game development 10x faster and accessible to everyone.About the Role: As an AI Engineer, you'll lead our efforts to build grounds-up AI native interactions and features of The Studio AI. You'll work directly with leadership to solve problems no one else is tackling in the industry. Your code, your systems, and your efforts will become the foundation that thousands of game creators build upon. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and practical game development needs. You won't just be implementing features—you'll be defining what's possible in AI-native game creation and building the systems that make it real. This isn't just another engineering role—this is a chance to architect the future of how games are built. What You’ll Do: You'll create a product that acts as the orchestration layer between Unity(the world’s leading game engine), creator tools, and assets to solve the messy "art-to-game" bottleneck that slows down every studio. This will require you to:Move at research speed in production: Implement a paper the day after it drops. Test a new model the hour it's released. We don't wait for stable APIs—we create them. Novel application of latest models/agents in another industry, discuss the application in ours. Build actual agents:Tool use, memory, retry logic, context updates, feedback mechanisms. Not a demo. AI co-workers that ship game code and assets. Run high-velocity experiments:Apply bleeding-edge AI to solve game pipeline inefficiencies. Fail fast, iterate faster. Ship and own GenAI features end-to-end:From POC to production. Your experiments become features that thousands of creators will use daily. Collaborate with our engine team to deploy:You’ll need to learn how our engine works to enable seamless integration your successful experiments into the product And of course, you will run evals, clean, prune, and collect datasets to analyze model performance, hallucination rates, recall, etc. What We Are Looking For: Qualifications 2+ years of experience building AI applications, ideally with production exposure Strong knowledge of GenAI methods including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vision LLMs, context protocols like MCPs, and agentic frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen Proven track record of quickly iterating on AI experiments and adapting to new findings and challenges Ability to navigate and find solutions in technically ambiguous situations Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and apply state-of-the-art AI techniques Good software development skills and ability to build robust systems Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think in systems, state machines, and event flows Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical team members High aptitude and passion for AI—side projects, competitions, or strong quantitative background are valued Experience from gaming industry or genuine passion for gaming preferred TechnologiesMust have: Python, working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), basic web development (REST APIs, HTTP) Should know (but learnable): RAG, agentic frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, etc.), MCP, prompt engineering, vector databases Nice to have:Node.js (huge advantage), FastAPI/Flask, Unity experience, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Docker We work at the application layer, not the transformer layer - while it is okay to not know how models work internally, you must know how to use them. We'll help you onboard on our Unity engine integration. This is for you IF You've built and owned complex systems from 0 to 1—not just features but foundations You think in systems, state machines, and event flows—not just endpoints. You default to velocity. Move fast and fail faster. You hold an incredibly high bar for yourself and expect it from others. You want direct impact, technical depth, and to solve problems that have never been solved before. You thrive in finding creative solutions to ambiguous problem statements, rather than wanting to “stay in your lane”. You’re not indexing on work-life balance; You prefer an environment of like minded, ultra-committed, live-and-breath AI people. ♀️ This is NOT for you IF You want a remote / hybrid role You need extensive structure, mentorship programs, or a predefined career ladder. You prefer working on a single, well-defined component. You view LLMs as just another API call. You're uncomfortable with ambiguity or rapid iteration. You can't handle direct, honest feedback or thrive in a high-candor environment.Interview Process: Aptitude Test (30 minutes) Technical Interview 1 (90 minutes) Technical Interview 2 (60 minutes) Final Interview (30 minutes)What We Offer: Opportunity to work on cutting edge products Working with a highly skilled, motivated and passionate group of people Competitive compensation Lunch on us, a fully stocked pantry, team events, and more
