Job Title: Physics Teacher – IBDP & IGCSELocation: Sancta Maria International School, Faridabad Department: ScienceType: Full-timeJob Purpose:To deliver engaging, conceptually driven, and inquiry-based Physics instruction aligned with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Cambridge IGCSE curriculum frameworks, while supporting student success, scientific curiosity, and global-mindedness.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum DeliveryPlan and teach Physics lessons in accordance with the IBDP and IGCSE syllabi and assessment standards.Design learning experiences that develop scientific understanding, experimental skills, and analytical thinking.Integrate real-world contexts and interdisciplinary links, especially with TOK, EE, and global issues.Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.Assessment & ReportingDesign and implement both formative and summative assessments aligned with IBDP criteria and IGCSE objectives.Grade and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and progression.Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to school reports and parent communication.Laboratory Work & SafetyConduct and supervise practical lab sessions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.Maintain lab equipment and inventory, in collaboration with the lab assistant.Foster a strong emphasis on scientific investigation and critical evaluation.Collaboration & Professional DevelopmentParticipate in curriculum planning, department meetings, and interdisciplinary initiatives.Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and student well-being.Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with curriculum changes and pedagogical innovations.Student Support & EnrichmentProvide academic guidance, support internal assessments (IAs), and supervise Extended Essays (EEs) as required.Offer after-school help sessions or enrichment opportunities like science clubs or Olympiad coaching.Contribute to co-curricular and whole-school events as part of the wider school community.Key Requirements:QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related field.A teaching certification or equivalent is preferred.IB and/or Cambridge training certifications (desirable).ExperienceMinimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in IGCSE and/or IBDP Physics.Experience with practical lab work, IA guidance, and external exam preparation is preferred.Skills & CompetenciesStrong command of subject knowledge and passion for Physics education.Familiarity with the IB philosophy and inquiry-based teaching approaches.Effective classroom management and communication skills.Competence in integrating educational technology and digital tools into teaching.Commitment to international-mindedness and holistic education.Preferred Attributes:Experience supervising IB Internal Assessments and Extended Essays.Willingness to engage in school life beyond the classroom.Ability to support interdisciplinary learning and student research initiatives.To apply for the position of Physics Teacher at Sancta Maria International School, please submit a cover letter, resume/CV, and contact information for three professional references to bemore@.
