Position Summary:We are seeking a highly accomplished and results-driven Head of Private Equity at the Vice President (VP) level, with a distinguished career spanning 20 years, specifically in the execution of sell-side Private Equity mandates. Based in Mumbai, this pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with an unparalleled understanding of the Indian PE landscape, exceptional deal execution capabilities, and a proven ability to originate, lead, and successfully close divestment transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients. Key Responsibilities: Lead Sell-Side Mandate Execution: Spearhead the end-to-end execution of complex sell-side Private Equity mandates, including strategic divestments, stake sales, and exits for promoters, corporates, and financial sponsors. Oversee and manage all phases of the transaction lifecycle: preparatory phase, marketing (teaser, IM development), investor outreach, due diligence coordination, negotiation, and closing. Ensure meticulous preparation of marketing materials, financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, multiples, precedent transactions), and investor presentations. Drive rigorous due diligence processes, coordinating with legal, financial, and commercial advisors Strategic Advisory & Structuring: Provide expert strategic advisory to clients on divestment strategies, optimal deal structuring, valuation, and potential buyer landscape. Guide clients through complex negotiations, ensuring the best possible terms and outcomes. Anticipate and address potential transaction challenges, offering proactive solutions. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and associates, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Delegate tasks effectively, provide constructive feedback, and ensure quality control of all deliverables. Contribute to the overall strategic direction and growth of the Private Equity division. Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership: Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends, industry dynamics, and regulatory changes impacting Private Equity transactions in India. Develop and share thought leadership on PE investment and exit strategies. Represent the firm at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other internal teams, including M&A, Corporate Finance, and Research, to leverage expertise and provide integrated solutions to clients. Qualifications: Experience:A minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or a related field, with a significant and demonstrable track record of successfully executing sell-side PE mandates. Experience at a reputable investment bank or a leading PE advisory firm is essential. Educational Background:MBA from a premier business school or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly preferred. A strong academic record is a must. Technical Expertise: Exceptional financial modeling, valuation (DCF, LBO, comparables), and analytical skills. Deep understanding of transaction structuring, legal documentation, and due diligence processes. Proficiency in financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, VCCEdge). Soft Skills: Outstanding negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at the senior level.
