Position: Head – ESG Location: Mumbai Industry: Infrastructure / Investment / Asset Management/Oil & Gas Experience: 15- 20 years Function: ESG, Sustainability, Risk & ComplianceAbout the Role A leading infrastructure investment platform is seeking an experienced professional to lead its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in embedding ESG principles into the business model, ensuring compliance, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable growth.Key Responsibilities ESG Management & Strategy ● Lead the ESG management framework aligned with IFC Performance Standards ● Integrate ESG principles into the company’s strategy, operations, and reportingPerformance Monitoring & Analysis ● Track ESG performance using global standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP) ● Analyze ESG data and generate actionable insightsRegulatory Compliance & Risk ● Ensure compliance with ESG-related regulations ● Identify and mitigate ESG risksCross-functional Collaboration● Work closely with legal, finance, operations, HR, and investor relations to embed ESG across business functionsReporting & Disclosure ● Prepare ESG and sustainability reports in line with international frameworks ● Support climate risk disclosures and non-financial reportingSustainability Initiatives ● Drive climate action, resource efficiency, DEI, and circular economy programs ● Lead initiatives toward net-zero targetsStakeholder Engagement ● Liaise with investors, regulatory bodies, communities, and NGOs ● Foster trust and transparency through regular communication HSE Execution ● Ensure effective execution and integration of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across operations in alignment with ESG and compliance frameworksQualifications & Skills ● B.Tech / M.Tech in Environmental Engineering or MS in Environmental Science/Sustainability ● Lead Auditor certification in Environmental Management Systems (preferred) ● Minimum 15 years of ESG leadership experience, ideally in infrastructure, roads, oil & gas, or financial services ● Familiarity with IFC / World Bank ESG standards ● Strong understanding of energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategies
