Your individuality enriches our collective strength, and we strive to ensure everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered.Position Summary As a Lead Mechanical Engineer at CIR, you will design mechanical piping and equipment for LNG and power plants, perform engineering analysis, develop P&IDs, and prepare equipment specifications. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, lead design teams, and mentor junior staff. Your role will also involve preparing construction scopes, reviewing design deliverables, and optimizing system performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to delivering efficient and reliable solutions.Core Responsibilities Design: Mechanical piping and equipment for LNG and power generation facilities Perform: Engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection Develop: P&IDs for LNG and power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, fuel gas, hydrogen, and utilities Prepare: Sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, heat recovery steam generators, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers, and pumps Prepare: Construction/installation scopes of work for mechanical systems. Check: Design deliverables by industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards Lead: Teams of engineers, designers, and drafters Mentor: Technical mentoring and/or oversight of junior staffEducation Requirements Bachelors/master’s in mechanical engineering or related fieldTechnical Skills and Experience Software Proficiency: MS Office Working knowledge of MicroStation and/or Auto CAD Working knowledge of 3D design software Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe Experience using Thermoflow Project Management: Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation Ability to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders Experience 7-12 years of relevant experience in Power Generation, LNG and Industrial facilities. (Consultancy experience is highly preferred). Professional Engineering registration in at least one US State preferredPsychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioural Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Project Management experience a plus. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion. Technical understanding of clean energy business processes Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
