General DescriptionAs a Mechanical Design Expert, you will play a crucial role in the successful design andengineering of the Mechanical Balance of Plant (MBoP) systems and equipment for HydroPower Projects. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, starting fromturbine auxiliaries, and hydraulic components of the governor to ensuring compliance withstandards and regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerateproject timelines while maintaining the highest quality standards.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKSMechanical Design and Engineering:Both basic and detailed engineering of Mechanical auxiliary systems for Hydro PowerProjects. Prepare Design Memorandums, Schematics, and Calculations ensuring accuracy andefficiency.Proficiency in various Mechanical Balance of Plant (MBoP) packages, including Cooling WaterSystems, Drainage and Dewatering Systems, Compressed Air Systems, Fire Fighting Systems, HVAC Systems, and Oil Pumping Unit (OPU) Systems ensuring alignment with overall technicalproject requirements.Engineering Excellence: In-depth technical knowledge of MBoP packages. Clarify andcommunicate design details with customers, addressing any queries or concerns. Excellentequipment sizing and selection skills. Utilize engineering software and tools like AutoCAD andother equipment sizing tools and ensure a "first-time-right" approach. Provide technicalsupport to the Procurement and Project Management teams during technical negotiations.Customer Focus: Prioritize customer satisfaction and maintain a strong focus on quality.Troubleshooting skills: Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills. Offer technical solutionsto project sites during erection, commissioning, and warranty periods.Cross-functional collaboration: Interface with cross-functional teams including procurement,quality control, and erection & commissioning to ensure seamless integration of engineeringactivities within defined time limits and to expedite project progress.Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with vendors, fostering the development of alternatedesigns and innovative solutions. Drive continuous improvement efforts in engineeringprocesses and actively seek opportunities for design optimizations without compromisingcontractual or project requirements.Independent Project Handling: Take ownership of the design for Mechanical systems/subsystemsand equipment within assigned Hydro Power Project packages, ensuring they meetproject-specific requirements.Timely Delivery: Monitor and enforce adherence to design schedules, ensuring on-timedelivery (OTD) of engineering components.Adherence to standards and Quality Assurance: Ensure that the design and engineering ofpackages meet guaranteed and contractual requirements while adhering to relevant industrystandards, regulations, policies, and procedures.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSQualification: BE/BTech in Mechanical EngineeringLocation: Flexible for Base Location (Delhi/Bhopal)Experience: 8-12 yearsSkills and Abilities:Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, like AutoCAD.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Knowledge of national, and international standards and regulations.
