Production Manager in the Furniture Industry : Job Title:Production Manager – Furniture Manufacturing Location:Mysore Reports To:Operations Manager Employment Type:Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and experiencedProduction Managerto oversee and manage our furniture manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating production processes, ensuring efficient use of resources, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production deadlines while driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, and manage daily production activities to meet output and quality targets. Supervise and lead production teams including carpenters, machine operators, upholsterers, and assemblers. Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve productivity. Coordinate with design, procurement, and quality assurance departments to ensure seamless production. Ensure that all furniture is manufactured in compliance with quality specifications and safety regulations. Manage production budgets, labor costs, and material usage to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. Train, coach, and develop production staff to ensure optimal performance and employee engagement. Maintain production reports, logs, and documentation for management review. Implement and enforce health and safety protocols on the shop floor. Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement. Proficient in production planning software and MS Office. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments. Experience with quality control standards such as ISO, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.Preferred Attributes: Hands-on experience in custom and mass production furniture. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for interpreting design specifications.
