It is Australia and New Zealand’s largest manufacturer of food and beverage packaging, made from household recycling. As Australia’s largest recycler, it processes 40% of Australian households recycling. Visy also supports customers with logistics, packaging supplies, point of sale displays and more. At Visy India, their technology hub in Hyderabad, they are expanding their technical capabilities to support their global business.Primary Responsibilities: This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution. The successful candidate will both contribute directly to key deliverables and lead a high-performing team to ensure excellence across the following areas: Operational Oversight Lead and continuously improve data pipelines, analytics workflows, and reporting operations—ensuring consistent availability, high data quality, and operational efficiency. Reporting and Analytics Enablement Oversee the delivery of accurate, timely, and business-relevant dashboards and reports that empower decision-making at all levels of the organization. Governance and Risk Management Uphold enterprise data governance, privacy, and compliance standards, while actively identifying and mitigating operational risks. Stakeholder Engagement Serve as a strategic liaison between business leaders, IT, and analytics teams— translating business priorities into actionable data initiatives and operational plans. Ensuring that activities are focussed on delivering sustainable value to the organisation. Team Leadership and Mentorship Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of data professionals, cultivating a culture of accountability, agility, innovation, and continuous improvement.Experience & Qualifications Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in data operations, analytics, or business intelligence. At least 2 years in a senior leadership or operational management role, ideally within a mid-to-large-scale enterprise. Proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide data initiatives and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams. Hands-on experience managing complex programs in cloud-based data environments, with a strong preference for AWS platforms.Desirable: AWS Certification in Data Analytics or Cloud Practitioner. Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2), Agile/Scrum, or data governance.Skills (Technical, Business, Leadership): Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams within data and analytics environments. Skilled communicator with the ability to distil complex data concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Solid understanding of key business processes including Quote to Cash, Procure to Pay, Hire to Retire, and Plan to Produce, with experience in packaging or manufacturing highly desirable. Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and balance competing demands for resources. Expert-level proficiency in SQL, data modelling ,and analytics engineering best practices. Advanced experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and SAP Business Objects. Hands-on expertise in ETL/ELT processes, orchestration tools, and modern data warehouse platforms (e.g., Amazon Redshift). In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud services, including S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, and Lambda. Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, privacy regulations, and compliance standards. Proficient in using project management and workflow tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
