Job Description – Field TrialistLocation: Multiple field locations (travel required up to 50%)Industry: Agriculture / Agri-biotechCompany: Sea6 EnergyAbout the CompanySea6 Energy is a pioneering company focused on the large-scale cultivation of seaweed using floating farms and the production of seaweed-based products. Our core applications are in Agriculture, with future expansions planned in Animal Feed, Food Additives, and Renewable Plastics.About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and proactive Field Trialist to manage and execute field trials for our agricultural products across multiple locations. This individual will play a key role in product evaluation, data collection, disease monitoring, and reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute product efficacy field trials across various locations and crops following recommended practices.Manage multiple field crop trials and ensure timely execution and closure.Select appropriate farmers and trial locations based on crop requirements.Apply and monitor treatments as per crop schedules.Conduct regular field visits to monitor disease incidence and environmental impact.Maintain strong coordination with farmers, local workers, and seasonal labor.Collect, compile, and analyze field data; share insights with the R&D team.Ensure proper crop management using the package of practices for different crops.Maintain research standards (e.g., replication, layout) across all trials.Forecast weather and market trends to plan field activities efficiently.Conduct hotspot disease trials and recommend treatments.Perform statistical data analysis and derive agronomic conclusions.Prepare and maintain a trial calendar to track field activities like spraying, harvesting, and data collection.Travel at least 50% of the time to manage and monitor field sites.Educational Qualifications & SkillsM.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Plant Pathology.3–5 years of relevant experience in either industry or academic research.Strong working knowledge of:Field crops: rice, corn, sugarcane, wheat.Vegetable crops: tomato, chilli, etc.Plant diseases: fungal, bacterial, viral under field conditions.Familiarity with agrochemical formulations and crop packages of practice.Strong analytical and statistical skills for data interpretation.Good communication and coordination skills.Multilingual ability (English, Kannada, Hindi, or other regional languages) is an added advantage.Salary PackageCompensation will be on par with industry standards, based on experience and qualifications.
