#JobOpening :Head – Cell Manufacturing (Solar PV)This opportunity for Solar based manufacturing company for their green field manufacturing plant which is located in Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli district - Tamil Nadu.If you meet our requirements, kindly send your updated resume with your Current and expected CTC while sending profile tovigni@Role Summary: TheHead – Cell Manufacturingwill be responsible for leading and managing high-efficiency solar cell production (PERC, TOPCon, n-type, Bifacial) across multi-GW scale manufacturing lines. This includes factory setup, ramp-up, yield improvement, technology implementation, quality assurance, and cost optimization. The role demands strong process control, team leadership, and in-depth technical knowledge of PV cell technologies.Key Responsibilities: 1. Cell Line Commissioning & Ramp-Up Lead end-to-end setup, commissioning, and production stabilization of ≥4 GW high-efficiency solar cell lines. Drive First-Cell-Out within 6 months and full-scale production within defined timelines. Coordinate with OEMs, engineering, and project teams for factory design and equipment readiness. 2. Process & Production Management Optimize process parameters for Mono PERC, n-type TOPCon, and Bifacial cells to achieve good cell efficiency in mass production. Drive SPC (Statistical Process Control), DOE (Design of Experiments), and Six Sigma for process standardization and continuous improvement. Implement best practices to enhance cell performance—light-induced passivation, lower degradation (LID/LeTID), and binning efficiency. 3. Operational Excellence Ensure daily production targets, yield levels, throughput, and equipment uptime. Analyze and improve KPIs such as cost per watt, material utilization, scrap rate, and defect rate. Establish lean manufacturing and 5S practices on shop floor for operational efficiency. 4. Technology & R&D Integration Work with R&D and Technology teams to introduce advanced cell structures—TOPCon, HJT, Large Wafer Format, Bifacial n-type. Participate in pilot-scale trials, process migration, and technology upgrades. Drive localization of cell process inputs (e.g., Mg-Si, quartzite sourcing for backward integration). 5. Quality & Reliability Drive in-line and end-of-line quality checks with EL imaging, flash testing, and surface inspection tools. Collaborate with Quality team to implement and maintain world-class QA/QC systems. Eliminate process-induced defects and drive RCA & CAPA for quality deviations. 6. Team Leadership & Development Lead and mentor a team of production engineers, process engineers, maintenance, and shift operators. Create a performance-driven culture with strong focus on training, upskilling, and safety. Foster cross-functional collaboration between production, quality, engineering, and logistics. 7. Cost & Resource Management Control manpower, energy, consumables, and other operational costs without compromising output or quality. Maximize yield and throughput from installed capacity while keeping CapEx and OpEx in check. 8. Reporting & Documentation Report daily, weekly, and monthly production metrics, process health indicators, and improvement projects to top management. Maintain process documentation, audit compliance, and SOP adherence. Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering Preferably with post-graduate specialization in Semiconductor or PV Technology Experience: 17–25 years in semiconductor or PV cell manufacturing with at least 5+ years in leadership roles Proven track record of commissioning and scaling solar cell production lines (PERC, TOPCon, or HJT) Exposure to global technology providers, OEM equipment, and cleanroom manufacturing practices Technical Expertise: Cell Technologies: Mono PERC, n-TOPCon, Bifacial, N-type, SiON passivation Soft Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities Resilience and adaptability to dynamic manufacturing environments Collaborative mindset with strong interdepartmental communication
