Position Name: Chief Security Officer (CSO)SGT University is in search of a seasoned professional to work as a Chief Security officer for its campus. The position will be reporting Pro-Vice Chancellor (General Admin.). The University, in its campus spread over 70 acres near Gurgaon, offers around 160+ programmes in Medical and Non-Medical domains. It nurtures more than seven thousand students and is a hub of activities involving the nation’s who’s who. It is a part of a group spanning the fields of education and hospitality. The University employs close to three thousand people. The campus has hostels for students and offers excellent support facilities such as shopping complex, medical facilities, sports, entertainment and transportation. The campus is located less than 5 km from the Delhi border of Daurala and offers convenient access to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.Job Description :University security is a dynamic entity both locally and nationally and may be prone to small lapses related to theft, indiscipline and misbehaviour. The aim is to be proactive and able to respond to security events as they occur and where possible plan for and take preventative action to remove or at least reduce the impact of that event and to enable a speedy recovery. Supervise personal, equipment, and real property security for faculty, staff, students, and visitors within an assigned area of the University campus. Remains vigilant to emergency situations and provide first-line response, emergency management. He is expected to:- To protect and safeguard all employees, students and visitors at the University. Also ensuring that university assets are secure and safe all the time - Oversees evaluation, discipline and discharge of personnel within the Security Department - Maintain liaison with Police and district Authorities regarding any problems pertaining in case to law and order - Execute the University’s fire prevention, safety, and security policies and procedures and prevent fire incidents and other calamities and incidents on the campus - Address complaints and resolve the problems. Develop procedures to minimize losses and issues. Inform students, faculty members and staff, rules and regulations regarding safety, property control, parking regulations, emergency response procedures, and building access - Oversee all incident reports, initiates the required follow-up actions, and forwards all required reports to the reporting authority - Plans and conducts training activities for department staff to keep staff informed and to improve security operations. Conducts regular meetings and advises staff on activities and/or changes across the campus of the university - To maintain a strict surveillance inside and outside the campus to avoid any disturbing situation and all the security gadgets are operational at all the time and liaise with IT/Facility team for rectification of any faults - Coordinate with Protocol Officer and others during the planning stage and during actual events to ensure that VIP and other important visits to the University are safe and secure - Responsible, at the scene of serious incidents, for initial decisions as to how the issue will be dealt with, who needs to be informed and / or asked to attendExpected Candidature Skills :Suitable candidate should be an enthusiastic and dynamic personality with more than 10 years of experience in Security Domain and should at least be a Graduate. PBORs from Defence and Para Military – JCO or equivalent rank are preferred. A demonstrable track record of developing and implementing practical solutions for strategic and operational change is essential along with an extensive knowledge of security risk management issues, services and systems both within the public and private sector.Desired skills include excellent communication in English, good critical thinking, judgement, astute sense of understanding student psyche and the ability to form strategy as well as the plan to roll out its execution through a team. He/she should be a good leader who has a keen sense of teamwork and open mindedness. The candidate should advise Senior Management on confidential or sensitive matters and act as a conduit between the University and the police at all levels in order to expedite solutions to difficult situations.He/she should have potential to work with all level of Managements senior academics, deans, administrators, superintendents, staff in the University and anyone who witnesses or becomes the victim or has a problem to discuss with security connotations.
