Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Embedded Engineer to architect, develop, and validate hardware systems and embedded firmware for clinical-grade devices. This role requires deep experience with Renesas microcontrollers, BLE modules, PCB design, embedded C development, and medical device regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and FDA 510(k) . You will be a technical lead, contributing to both R&D and production-ready design, working alongside cross-functional teams in firmware, mobile, and QA. Key Responsibilities: Design analog and digital circuits for embedded medical systems using microcontrollers (Renesas RX series, MSP430, etc.). Develop multi-layer PCB designs and supervise hardware debugging, EMI/EMC testing, and system validation. Lead embedded firmware development using Embedded C/C++ and tools such as Renesas e2 Studio, CS+, and HEW. Integrate Bluetooth (BLE) modules and sensors (ECG, SpO2, Temperature, Positioning) for real-time signal processing. Collaborate with software, QA, and product teams to align hardware interfaces with mobile and cloud platforms. Guide design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), and handle BOM optimization. Prepare design documents, technical files, and support FDA 510(k) submissions and ISO 13485 QMS audits. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices for embedded hardware and firmware development. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members while supporting their onboarding and professional development. Lead planning and execution of engineering projects, including research, design decisions, and resource coordination. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, presenting project updates and strategic recommendations. Contribute to policy development, budget management, and represent the company at industry events and technical forums. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, or Biomedical Engineering. 5+ years of proven experience in embedded hardware and firmware design for medical or real-time systems. Expertise in Renesas Synergy (S1, S3, S7), RX62N, RX63N, MSP430, and other 8/16/32-bit MCUs. Proficiency in embedded C/C++, circuit debugging, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, BLE). Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance, OrCAD schematic/layout tools , and medical-grade PCB design practices. Experience supporting FDA 510(k) filings, CDSCO, and ISO 13485:2016 documentation requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with patient-monitoring systems (e.g., ECG, SPO2, NIBP). Hands-on with IoT modules, embedded Linux (NXP i.MX), and BLE stack integration (TI, Nordic, Microchip). Familiarity with scripting or automation (Python/MATLAB) for test setup and data analysis.
